Growing medium drying out

Hello, my coco fiber dries out if I do not water exactly every 24 hours. I am currently using 3 gallons would 5 gallons mean i could give more water less often? And also, do you guys reuse your mediums since you put all those beneficial microbes and such in it?

i never re-use my coco, that is because i flower in small containers that become totally rootbound. when growing in large containers you can rip out the main rootball and water with an enzyme solution that will break up the dead roots and provide further beneficials to the rhizosphere.

once the plant has a decent root mass it is hard to over water in coco so i say it should be fine to up-can to a 5 gallon and allow yourself a little more breathing space on watering times.

Pure coco will dry out rapidly. Heck yes if you can capture the drainage use it. If it were in the wild it would be sitting in it until it was used. To a point. Water does not decompose (rot) but nutrients can and will. Re-use but discard after a couple days. Reuse soils but coco? Leach it by soaking in clean water and re-use that water. Buy new coco.
