growing in modoc county

Does modoc have similar growing season to such places as Humboldt and mendo counties? I think it might snow in modoc not sure I can't really find anything on Google

I hadnt ever heard of it (I live in Ca) so I looked it up, wow thats desolate. It sounds like the least California like area of California. It is far inland so it gets much colder much earlier than the grow counties you mentioned. According to wikipedia the county seat and largest city, Alturas (population 2827),the average low in august is 42 and 36 for september..so it doesnt look like its suitable for growing.

I'm thinking of buying an acre there in modoc . I just couldn't really find anything out about it. Wasn't sure if the season was long enough. Things I found on Google said growing season is only 100 days there?

That sounds about right,if it is already getting freezing temps in September. I guess you could use a greenhouse or something. You really wanna live hundreds of miles away from anything though?
