Growing in a 5 gallon water container?

So me and some friends were talking about 5 gallon water containers, you know, the ones in offices and such. I immediately started trying to figure out how to grow a single plant inside of one. Basically I wanted to put 2 fans (one on each side and one lower than the other), one or two CFL's (just enough for 100w or a little more) and the plant inside of a pot with soil. Nothing fancy, just a handy little grow container that I could move around if need be. Do you think a single marijuana plant could live in these conditions? I was assuming the humidity created in this container would somehow help and the 2 fans would be enough to circulate the air and could get it dry when I wanted it to be. I'll try to draw a diagram in paint and post it.

EDIT2: Forgot to mention that the entire thing is about 19'' tall

EDIT: Pics up :)

Ok so I started building it, only have the fans installed atm. I'll take pics and put them up when I get back from class. I plan on painting the inside white and cutting off the very bottom so it is more like a dome than a container. Or I'll make a hole in the bottom the perfect size of the pot so it can just slide on and off. Either way I'm excited!! Just need to get the lights and the right kind of pot and I'm good to grow :)

What is the reason for growing like this? 18" tall won't allow for much of a plant given the 5" or so pot.
Were u just looking to hide the plants????

lol shit my bad, the only thread i dont read the first 1st comment in. - Fim/Topping to cut back leaves and get alot of little leaves and have a real uniform plant, like a bonsai style. The part of the plant that's visible from the surface(ei, not the roots), is equal to in size of the roots underground. Top=bottom. So try to have a nice soil structure and you shouldnt have a problem.

You could, for exhaust, because odor is an easy problem w/ MJ is build a DIY party cup size carbon filter-but the cups are actaully a coated metal container for desk pens or some shit, all the materials(mats) can be picked up at Walmart, i did as well. The thread is somewhere around RIU, might be a tutorial in the grow FAQ section(tab), and then instead of the the fan being in the hole between outside and inside the tank, you could attach a 4'' in diameter ducting- at any Home Depot. That duct could be 3 or 4 ft long, or even 2 ft. But somewhere through out the duct have a fan high enough cfm to pull thro the filter. gl
This would work because the surface area on the whole body of the cup will be greater then the hole that the fans is blowing out of.

No lol there really is no reason, I just want to be the guy that can say, "hey I grew a plant in one of those once." It's just a little side project to keep me occupied, ya know?

Also I'm trying to find a pot that I can fit in through a hole I plan on cutting in the bottom so that the soil level will be even with the bottom of the jug. What I might do is cut the bottom off and just use it as a humidity dome.

I'll look for that thread, thanks man. I like the idea of going bonsai with it though! Definitely going to research good ways to keep a squat little mini plant :P

Intake fan needs to be near the bottom, and exhaust near the top. Remember, heat rises;-) Something like this would make a great hydroponic Bubbler ....hmmmmmmm Got me thinking. Good luck with your project :)

So to solve the intake/exhaust problem I just turned the jug upside-down lol. Stay tuned, Monday I get paid so I'll be finishing up this project and it will be followed by a grow journal!! :)
