Growing business.

I have had two success full grows. My second one being a organic soil. The strains were juicy fruit and Kush.

I have a new grow room. I am still working out the kinks in it. I have run into a small bump, that is that the plants have started flowering. I fear it was due to stress and a bad light cycle.

But i was thinking that this grow journal would be a little different. I thought maybe along with plants that i am growing, i would give a detailed account of how i would like to get into the business.

I have almost no contacts in the town where i live. I have built my grow room with production in mind. I have allowed for futre expantion if i want. I am willing to take the risk.

With the two succsessful grows under my belt i think i am ready to grow some weed to see. But i have one problem.

I don't know how to get rid of it, or how much i will get for it.

I am hoping that by march i will be able to harvest 12 plants a month. I am hopeing that will get me about $3000 a month. I am in Canada, this might not be realistic since i have no idea what a pound sells for in canada.

I will need to find someone to buy it. I want someone who will take it all, in one shot. This should eliminate multipule people knowing i grow. I have one lead. Its an old hippie i used to hang out with. I heard he sells to dealers. I am hoping to run into hiim one of these days. That part of it is still some time away so i can wait.

The strain i am growing now is G-spot. I just started a fem blue berry. i was thinking of having two mothers, and 12 plants in veg/clone 12 in the first month of flower and 12 in the last month of flower.

My other thought about this was, its only two pounds. I think if i get busted i might be able to convice the judge that this is personal use. My grow room is small.

Anyway, i will try and post some pics of my setup. I think i have one i will post. I will get some more.

A few developments today. I have put one of the plants into flowering. I was trying to keep her from flowering but it can't be helped. She's going hell or high water.... So i have segrigated the plants, i have put up a quick sheet to act as a door on the grow chamber, but its hafefast and will need a better system

I found out that the old hippie does in fact sell pot. Apparently you sell a pound for about $2000. That works well for me.

I am hoping to pull two pounds every month. Seeing as my last harvest was under one pound, i feel this is a realistic goal. My flowering chamber is about 3x5. I think this might be too small for my desired 24 plants. I have ordered 9" 3gallon square pots.

Well, today's business was getting the doors on the flower chamber.

It framed in easily. I will still have to fix some light leaks. I hot glued the poly to the doors. Worked really well.

I am wondering how many plants i will be able to fit in this room.

its 3 x 5. I have ordered 9" square pots. I can fit 24 in the room. I guess this would be considered a sog grow then.

Well my first sprout, a fem blue berry damped off. I am wondering if putting these bags over them is not a good idea. Its such a toss up. One one hand the fucking air here is sooo dry my humidity is really really low. On the other hand. The lack of air movement in the bag promotes damping off. I have started taking the bags off if they are poking through the soil.

I took another clone today from my flowering female. More of a test then anything. I would like to see how these root when taken at the very beginning of flowering. Would be good to see how they veg. I won't be disappointed if they fail miserably.

I have been reading the Soma Style organic gardening book. I think that i will be addopting his style of planting only doing it in 9" square pots (if they ever arrive). The basics being putting hydro clay at the bottom of the pots to alow for constant air supply to the roots. I think its a great idea.

I am wondering about how many plants i will be able to fit in my flowering chamber. Not really sure if 24 plants in a 3x5 area is realistic.

Thought on this girl i would try a little LST. I bent her over and was amazed at how quickly she turned up to the light. In just a few hours there was a total transformation.

Looks like my other plant is a female. I was concerned for a while, i was sure that it was showing male flowers. But i decided to wait it out and see, then yesterday the pestils started coming out. Its a girl. I have just fed them a Guano tea that i have been brewing. I transplanted the other plant and started the LST on it.

I ran into two problems yesterday. One, the rosemary plant i had in the grow room was infested with aphids. That ended up in the snow bank outside. then I discovered white fly on my seedlings. I have them a dip in safers soap and that seems to have take care of that.

I was glad to notice and fix the problem before it got out of hand. Lucky....

Still need to find a buyer by march......

I haven't told my girlfriend that i am growing for cash yet. She knows that i am growing, and is as supportive as she can be. She hates it, but she knows I love it so much that i couldn't possibly stop even if i wanted too.

Anyway, soon i am going to have to tell her my plans. I can't see that she is going to like it. We were suppose to go to Sweden in june and that fell through. So she's kinda pissed about that.

I am kinda hoping that if i can make some cash we can still go but in september.....wait and see.

And i had yet another time crap out. I am amazed that i never thought of this as a problem. The shitty little timers that you get at the hardware store are just not good enough to run a HID light. I had four timers and have systemattically killed each one. This morning i went electrical store and bought a heavy duty timer. What a dream those things are. Way better then the others.

I am having thoughts about changing my light set up again. Currently i have two 400w lights. One HPS and the other MH. I am thinking of swaping them out for one 600hps. Not sure yet.

1st. The hippy CAN be trusted. He's been selling to dealers for 20 years and hasn't been busted. He seems like a good person to go to, rather then the punk who has been doing is six months and is about to be busted.

2nd. Like i am going to take any critisism from a guy who boasted about a way to root fan leaves, and then didn't follow through with it. AND THEN goes on and on about how everyone is being an asshole to him. Why don't you look at the tone of how you posted in my thread and think "Maybe everyone was an ass to me, because im a fucking dick."

And things are moving along real nice.

I told my GF that i was planing on making a little side money, not much, just a bit. She wasn't too happy about it, but i think she new it was coming. I think that she was happy that i didn't lie about it, and was honest. I showed her the room, she hadn't seen it in a few months. She was amazed at how organized and well set up it was.

My G-spot plant is in week 4 or 5. Budding like mad now. I have given her some high P tea, and am going to make a pot ash tea today for her. Not much in the way of crystals. I am impressed at how much better the buds are developing on the LST compared to natural growing.

I need to find out a few things about my seedlings. The berry hash is an auto flower, and i am not sure when it will start. I think i will most likely leave it in the veg chamber under the MH. Its 24/h and will be fine. I might give it some days here and there under the HPS, but i don't plan on switching my HPS off of 12/12 becuase i will have my Juicy Kush and Northern Flame in there.

I figure with the time line i have now, i will have a saleable product by mid may. I might have a small amount to sell in the middle of march.

Going to buy some seeds at the end of this month. Thinking about getting a more commercial stain. AK-47 or White Widow.

Berry Hash is also doing well. I am thinking of keeping this plant as my mother. The guy that i got these seeds from used to grow commercially. He said this is a good commercial plant.

I talked to this guy for a bit the other day. Looks like he will be able to set me up with a buyer. I was pretty relieved to hear that. I was worrying about where to unload this stuff. $2000 a pound and its gone. These are northern prices. Cheaper then Southern Prices.

The story behind the blue berry is as follows: Last spring i ordered these seeds from BCBUD online. Fucking ass wipes. My seeds too THREE MONTHS to get here. By that time i had not only emailed them twenty times but cancelled the payment on CC so they never got their money. A week later the seeds show up. Just as well two, only half the seeds germed. This is the only one that has servived. And...AND i think its a male. Did i mention that they are supposed to be feminized. Anyway.

The Northern Flame being a male is just bad luck.

i should mention at this point that i am only daducing this from the preflowers. So i won't really know until i flower them properly.

That being said, the Berry Hash are beautiful plants. Havn't picked out my mother, but will soon. I have taken clones and am currently flowering them.

I am VERY excited i bought a digital 600 watt HPS last monday. It should be here tomorrow. There is going to be a fuck load of light in there. The ventelation system will definatly be put to the test. I will have a 600 watt hps and 400 watt MH. The theory is that they will go into the flowering chamber and spend a month under the MH in 12/12 then be moved over under the 600 HPS for the last month as a new crop of 12 plants come in under the MH.

Going to be a killer set up.

It works out to be about 66 watts per square foot. I think thats pretty good. Now if i can get four pounds every two months thats.....3.6 grams per watt....i don't know if thats good or not.
