Growing beside house, but not on your property?

Hey there, I was wondering about this. If I plant a few plants around my fence line beside bushes (not trying for big grow, just extra plants) but put them along a neighboring fence line on THERE side of the fence, and it gets discovered by local police, could i still get in trouble (I'd weave it through so it looked like it grew naturally through the fence)

why would you want to do that to your neighbor,why dont you just grow them in your own spot where im at right now people are loosing their homes to flood waters and everybody is pitching in helping each other out, piss your neighbors off is bad news where im from not cool man not at all
