The only problem I have seen are cane borers. Keep an eye out for wilting leaves on the cane. If you spot a troubled cane, follow it down and you might spot a section that has two brown rings. The cane borer chews the rings around the cane about an inch apart from each other and lays the egg in between the rings. The larvae will mess your plant up in no time. Cut the cane off and burn it.

Make sure to check the PH best for the type of berry. for instance blueberry's like 4.5-5.5 (if memory is on my side, don't quote me)

I'm growing berries this year.. Just started them a month ago.... 3 blueberrys and 1 blackberry... all in large 10 gal-15 gal pots with 40% perlie, 60% Fox farms ocean forest and about 6 tablespoons of sulphur to bring that pH down...
They are doing fantastic, I heard they are slow to grow but they totally took off in the sunlight in favorable weather... They grow a great color too...
I hear that you want to really establish your berry plant before you start letting them fruit... This is why I'm pruning all flowers forming on my blueberrys and not expecting any harvest until NEXT season
. Should be worth it though! I hear blueberry bushes mature at around 15 years. I'm doing the same for some of my pepper plants too.. Letting them get nice and big before they start producing fruits.. No dilly dallying

hell yea. I've got blueberrys in my back that are over 10+yrs old. The only thing that I've noticed is you have to watch other weeds,bushes,plants, vines overtaking the area and I like to give them a good trim every other year. That's a good idea with the blueberry flowers. I did the same to my strawberries last year pinched back all flowers so this year Im hoping for a nice harvest

Amazon has some sweet Dwarf Top Hat blueberry bushes for under $10. I think there from Hirts Garden but they only grow like 2-3ft tall and you get up to 5lbs of fruit a year. I've got two in pots to see how they turn out.

Root rot is not a Virus it’s a condition thatis easily corrected. Most berries are very hardy and can grow anywhere; theyare more tolerant to cold then heat... When I lived in Maine... The snow would cover my plants each year…. Theywere fine the next summer.
Strawberries are different; they can take the cold, but can’ttake the heat. 90+ is a problem, they need shade and water/… but if it’s toohot water = zero help.
