I think hanging buds to dry in the desert is a mistake. I think it might work better to stack 'em in a paper grocery bag 2 deep, right off. Or maybe it would be better to harvest 'em while there's still some moisture in the soil rather than (following what seems to be the conventional wisdom on the www and) letting the soil dry before harvesting.
There're a lot of differences growing in the desert. Never have to worry about mold, but I've also read that thc production is decreased if the humidity is too low while growing. This can be difficult to manage in the desert, especially in a small 3x3 space you might be trying to pack with as many plants as possible. Trying to keep the grow room humid (40%+) with vaporizors, hanging wet rags, bowls and trays of water seems like a mistake (and a pain in the ass). Maybe better to water daily and keep an oscillating fan on the plants so the daily watering and drying keeps some humidity in the room. I've read that a plant will mature more quickly if it is watered and dries out more frequently. Any desert growers out there? What are your experiences?
