growing a mexi seed

im growing a seed from most likely mexico and its been in flowering for two weeks now and no sign is it possible that its a autoflower since they probably just plant seed from the plants they grew the year before and since they all have the same genetics for such a long time that its just used to veggin for however long it normaly does before flowering?
i switched to 12/12 after 3 1/2 weeks and it was at 6 nodes. now it is at 10 going on 11
 
sounds like you flipped it before it "presexed" or started to flower. All plants need a certain amount of time to flower. Once a plant shows sex it will start to flower. By turning the light cycle back early, although with some strains this helps trigger this "presexing" in Mexican sativas it won't, you slowed down this process. If it was an autoflower it would of presexed and started to bud in the 3.5 veg time. Hang in there it will bud and will probably produce some fine sativa smoke if female...better than the bag of weed this seed came from if done corectly. good luck and posst some pics when you can.

alright ill post a pic in a little bit
so swithing to 12/12 early with mexi seed wont help show sex? so it need a specific time to veg?
 
no in my experience flipping early, especially with sativa doms, does no good. in fact ive done a side by side and the ones i vegged until they sexed finished faster. Too late now and nothing to worry about but it will just take some time till they sex. there is no real specific time for veg usually plants show round day 30 some around 35 and even some hard core sativas on 18/6 take 8 weeks+. Next time just veg until you see balls or hairs. Like I said though I wouldnt trip she will come through. One thing that can be good about flippin early is it will/should keep her smaller. With sativas and depending on your space this can be a good thing.
 
Switching to 12/12 Early doesn't do anything.

a Marijuana Plant will show its sex When its READY. it will even show it under 24 Hours of light, but ONLY When its ready. Like everything else on the planet it takes time to come to sexual maturity. you have to be patient with these things.

Im currently growing Mexican Sativa x BC Bigbud. it takes around 6 weeks to mature when growing from seed.

yeah thats why i switched because i only have about 20 in to the lights with them all the way at the top so i was trying to make it small.
dang thats a long time hopefully mine shows somewhat soon i hate waiting excpesially if its a male that would suck.
here are the pictures of it i tied it down a little more this morning so the top isnt straight up yet and i did over water the otherday so some leaves are a bit droopy

Your plants have to go through puberty before they can be ready to make babies.

You mean you're growing some seed from a bag of schwag, that you assume (probably correctly) is Mexican, yes?

Since its cheap seedy stuff, almost by definition there is no chance that its an autoflowering strain. Emprically, since you say its got 11 nodes, its not auto-flowering.

I don't really know how the Mexican growers do it, but the plants in question may have simply sprung up from seeds that fell off of last years crop. That's the natural life cycle of outdoor cannabis plants.

Yeah, 3.5 weeks was probably a bit too early. You really do need to wait until you start seeing the "pre-flowers" at the nodes to start flowering. One clue is that when the leaves on the nodes start to come up alternating (instead of in opposite pairs) you're getting closer.
 
yes you should turn it back to 18/6. the extra 6 hours of Photocontact will allow for 6 extra hours of growth :)
