grow tents

Im looking into a new setup and I wanted some advice on grow tents, like what i should be looking for or where I should buy one from. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thx

I have a 4 x 4 x 7 sunhut silver xl. I got it off ebay for around $215 shipped. Aside from one of the assembly pieces being mis-shapen (replacement was sent right out), it has been working good for me. In the past, people have reported toxicity issues but those were mostly the older version white tents...silver seems to be safe across the brand board.

The first thing to figure out is how big of a tent you need. Then you should bargain hunt, while keeping brand names in mind. I've read alot of good things about secret jardin and grow labs. (they may be the same company.) Good luck.

i have two grow lab tents and i love them i have a 5x5x6 and 4x4x6.

i have a canfan pulling air out and a couple small utility fans bringing it it-
i cannot seem to get below 88 degrees -
i suspect i need more powerful fans bringing air in?
if so, any ideas on what to purchase?

thinking big, I like that but u need a pretty strong exstraction fan. that 1000watter is probably 8" so u might need something over 440cfms thats if your using a cooltube. orchidboy if you get a more powerful fan to pull the air out of the tent you dont need those other fans pushing air in bcuz your tent will be closed and the big fan will create good negative pressure and will bring a nice constant flow of air threw the air vents down bottom. let that 1 fan do 95% of the work and the other 5% is for 2 more fan inside the tent 2 keep the air moving in the tent. I went and purchased a small 14.99 oscillating fan at walmart they have 3 differant colors pick the white 1. they are not big so u can take it turn it upside down and get yourself some rope and rig it up to 1 of the corners of your tent and u should be golden. thats how mine is currently operating using a 600w.

wow iam shpcked u have a 1000w in a 4x4 but whatever, if u have an ac hood i would def. run that bc thats what i did for my 5x5 with a 1000hps in it and it use to be like 89 to 92 and bought a new exhaust 440 canfan and use my old 300cfm ative air fan running throught my ac hood and it dropped my temp down to 79 to 82 iam planning on buying an ac radient hood for my 4x4 bc it has an air cooled one and iam battleing temp in there a little. what cfm canfan u running right now?

ya thats overkill wattage. I'm surprised you're keeping it below 90.

I got a 600w hps ina 5x5x6.7 jarden darkroom. The Jarden darkroom is great. High quality material. Temps are about 4-5degrees warmer than ambiant temps. I got an 8in vortex to suck all the heat out the hps. A 6in carbon filter fan and a 4in intake. My temps are 74-81 so far in an unclimate controlled room. Outside temps are about 68-77 right now. I am happy with the jarden darkroom. It was like $299 and worth every penny. I got mine from cdgrowlight.com
