Grow Tent Ventilation and Air Tightness Q's

Hey guys... Ive been growing for years and every grow room ive had I have built from scratch out pine 2x4 and ply board but I have bought a tent this time around to see what GO is. I just have a few questions for those who are already growing in these tents.

I notic that they aren't the most light tight things i the world and also not very air tight. I have always gone by the rule that if air can enter in via anywhere but the sealed/filtered ducting that bugs can enter quite easily through these places, attracted by the bright high powered lghts. I seem to have proven this to myself through experience (I've only ever had one insect infestation about 10 years ago during my first grow in an open space in a cupboard) so I know it to hold true. So I am just asking what others have done to combat any air leaks in the tents mainly in the unused ducting/power cord inlets/outlets. I just cant seem to tighten them up so as to eliminate air or bugs getting in.

Now the other thing is the actual ventilation flaps, does anyone even use these? Coz the fly screen/mesh that they use on them is not very bug tight either so i think i'm gonna tape them up.

As you stated I immediately tape the vent flaps closed.

You are correct you get pin holes of light leaking through here and there. I havent had a problem as of yet.

I ran my power into the tent through one of the air ducts.

Yeah I am gonna get some of that foil gaffer tape and as for the ducts i'm gonna get some foam to place in there to pull the draw strings tight on so it removes the gap... I think that should do the trick.
