Grow Tent Setup Confusion: Secret Jardin II DR120

Was hoping someone else has this grow tent or something similar and could help me out with how you setup the light and ventilation. I'm struggling to figure out the best case scenario. Tent is 4x4x8, Using a Melon Head reflector with 8" vents. For some reason I ordered a 6" Fresh Filter. The tens has 6 8" vent ports which you can see in the pictures. One on the bottom for intake, 2 top/sides and one on the very top. As you can see I don't have much room to work with for bending ducting. The filter and light are RIGHT next to each other(pics)I thought I saw some setups where people had the fans outside the tents, etc. Put the fan on the floor outside the tent and somehow split it? then suck both from the light and fan on different ducts?

Another annoying issue is with the ducting, clamps, and fitting them together. I got some 6" flexible ducting for the 6" fan. But it doesn't slide on there, they are both 6". You'd think they'd make the ducting 6 1/4".

Basically I want to see some of your setups. If you have some good pics.

Here's what I'm working with so far....

this is straight up from the bottom. 2 different angles so you can see the port:

Well if the fan and filter are both 6" you will mount the fan DIRECTLY to the filter and get a really good seal on it so theres nothing leaking past it. This will also provide positive air pressure along the ventilation setup which keep you from sucking air in through leaks in the hood and other connection points in the ventilation system. The way i did mine is i basically have the fan and filter connected...then ducting running from the fan into the left side of the light...and then out of the right side of the light and through the vent hole in the top of the DR120. And then i just leave one of the passive intake covers off for air coming in which will still keep plenty of negative air pressure in the tent.

i have a dr120 too with a 8'' radiant and 6''x24'' phresh filter.
The way i set it up is the filter (inside tent) to fan to the light then exhausted out of the tent. everything is at the top of the text.
You should expand the 6'' ducting to the 8'' ducting right after the fan then connect to the light.

The ducting was super hard for me to get on too so i think thats normal. just play with it and it should go on.

You are going to want to light hangers so you can get your reflector closer to the canopy.

Yeah as far as the ducting itself goes you have to make sure the edge is kind of rolled outwards or it will snag and not fit onto the fan or light. I found that out after fighting with ducting for a while since i got solid metal ducting as opposed to that stuff thats just a metal wire with aluminum foil looking stuff on it.

wow!! i had a hard time setting my tent up too. say, what tent is this? i have the Sun Hut XL. 4x4x7. its actually bigger than that by about a whole half foot! yippy. i have a 1000w light, XXXL Magnum 8' hood. and a 8" fan. i have no windows in my room, but i do have a door way that literally leads to nothing. its like a greenhouse. its really neat. and my girlfriend picked out the best place ever!! i you would to see it to understand it. but anyways. i exhaust out into that room and had a hell of a time figuring out the set up. glad i wasnt the only one that hard a hard time hooking everything up. i have a question though? where would the most ideal place be to place a filter? i really need to avoid having anything at all smell since my little room is outside. technically there is a 10' wall, but its very possible the smell could get to a person walking by. my tent has straps for a filter. but i do not know how i would hook it up inside the tent. also. i see you have the extra cooler booster. do you know how well that thing works yet? im debating getting one or not. im really at my maximum electric usage. getting a portable a/c unit soon. that may hike the bill up, lol!!

As far as I know the best place for the filter is a top corner. The hot air will rise, hopefully taking some stink with. Then the filter will suck it in and scrub and blow it out. I think I MAY have it figured out. I got the fan and filter attached pretty sweet. I used some 1" closed sell weather sealant from Home Depot on the inside flange of the filter, and on the outside flange of the fan. That made it snug and air tight; that stuff is super grabby, then I used a 6" clamp to snug it up. It's tight I'm gonna hang it and test it.
