Grow tent set up

Hello, i am starting a new grow room and just need some advice on what kind of carbon filter i would need for my size grow room. So far i have a [FONT=arial,helvetica]Virtual Sun 600 Watt HPS MH Grow Light Hood Reflector Digital Ballast Kit - Dimmable. [/FONT][FONT=arial,helvetica]Virtual Sun Grow Tent - 48'' x 24'' x 60''[/FONT]. what size filter do i need and how many fans do you think i would need to run? Thanks guys

It has to do with matching the correct filter to the correct fan needed for your cooling/exhaust situation. To find a correct exaust setup is as follows:

Calculate your CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) LxWxH then multiply by 5 (5 from "exchanges per minute" because it should run for a minute every five minutes)

In your case: 4'x2'x5' = 40 x5 = 200 CFM

Plus you will consider your heat from electrical sources (a 600w light for example) and divide it by about 4 for additional CFM needed for cooling - 600/4 = 150

Total is a fan that can do at least 350 CFM (not yet taking in account your watts of other electrical components).

So...you would need an inline fan rated at least 350-400 CFM and a corresponding filter that goes with chosen fan.
