Hi all,
I just picked up a 32x32x63" grow tent for flowering. Plants will need to be short for sure, but it's all the room I have to work with unfortunately and short plants will be better than no plants! I've set up my 400 watt HPS in it and temps are too high. I have to keep all the ventilation flaps open as well as the top of the zipper door just to keep things in the high '80's. I want to get it down to 80 degrees or so at least, and it would be nice to be able to go lower if I wanted to. Daytime temps here are currently in the mid '70's (it's a very warm fall so far) but should be dropping soon down to the '50's during the day and '30's at night, and then of course colder than that come winter. I also run the lamps at night when temps are cooler, but it's still not enough. I'm hoping I can get some ventilation for my lamp and that will be enough to manage temps in the tent. I have a Sun Systems reflector hood that looks like the one on this page: http://www.hidhut.com/catalog/large-super-horizontal-replacement-glass-pi-1447.html. Currently it doesn't have any glass in it or flanges, but I can pick these up. I want to know how big a fan I'll need to keep the lamp cool. The hood is set up for 4" flanges, so I'll need a 4" fan or a reducer. What kind of cubic feet/minute should I be looking for to adequetly cool things down? Can I get away with one of those fans that look like large computer case fans or should I get a squirrelcage/canfan/whatever you want to call it? Thanks for any help, I need to get this set up ASAP so my plants won't suffer too bad. Thanks for any help
