Grow room size, # of plants, topp or not ?????'s....NEED TO DECIDE SOON !!!

Howdy all ...Newbie to controlled grows.
I built a small grow box...2ftx4ftx4ft tall. I am using 18x100 watt cfl's. Inside, I can fit 6 1.5 gallon containers. For my first crop I have 10 Nirvana fem short riders coming any day. They claim to be a med height plant. My question is, should I grow six in that space, top them to keep them short, or leave more room in the box and grow just 2 or 3. These are supposedly autoflower, but have heard lots of grumblings as to that fact.
In the future I plan to grow Nirvana's Papaya, Northern light and Aurora indica which are all "short " strains. Would topping all six plants work better in this box, or just let them grow. I guess I need to figure out if topping is a worthwile option in my box. Where and when to top a plant is also some info I need to know.....Oh yeah, I'm doing an organic soil grow ( if that makes a difference) . ANY TIPS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED .THANKS

Youll prob be able to fit 6 into a space that small, but your plants arent going to get very big. Id def top the plants, when ever im using limited space I always top my plants. I only time I leave my plants alone to grow big colas, is if I have the space/lighting to let them get big so I get big tops. If your using limited space/lighting then Id top them and let multiple tops come off that plant. Youll get more weight out of 15 small-med tops then you would if you just let you plant get one top. I usually top mine once they get about 6 weeks after I clone them or once there around 10-12 " tall. I top mine by cutting off the main top just above the 2 new growth tips that are found just below the main top. Also around a week or two after I top my plant I like to go back in and remove all the bottom/side branches that are from the soil up 6-18" from the bottom of the plant (Lolipoping). If my plants are only 12" tall, then I only remove 2-3" worth of branches, if my plant is 3' tall then I mite remove 12" worth of branches and so on.

Charlie take a look at the Equipment chapter of Weed Science. If the answers you are looking for are not there, or not in a concise form that you can use to figure out set up, please post in the Grow Lab thread and I'll make changes.

Thanks.
