Grow room height

Hi, I have a grow area with a height of about 1m high. Is this enough height to have plants grow from beggining to end without wanting to go any higher or being burt by the light. Thinking of going with a 400watt hps.

Not reli with High Pressure Sodium unless you get a air cooled tube for the HPS
try but more than likely it will burn the plant that close.
 
I use 150 watts HPS (small i know) but i only grow a couple plants at a time, and they usually do fine in about a 3 ft. tall area, but it gets a little hot. a little over 80 degrees. but i dont think a 400 watt hps would have room to cool and your plants can't be right on top of the light.
 
Is switching the lights to 12/12 after just a few weeks vegetative growth what keeps plant short?

It's one way to do it, the plant will double or even tripple in size when flowering. So think about your "headroom"

Using the Low Stress Method is an easy way to control the growth of the plant.

I have a plant about 1ft tall, unsure of sex still. Its winter where i live at the moment and i understand cannabis wont grow in winter? I have it inside not out! Does anyone have any idea what the outcome of this plant might be? I figured i would put it under a light and try to start it flowering under 12/12 will that work. Thanks.
 
I was wondering how the plant is affected by the type of season we're in (winter) From my knowledge i understand marijuana will only flower at the end of summer when the nights get longer. Since im in the middle of winter will my plant flower or just keep vegetating!? (this is if i just kept it in the window sunlight, i was thinking of putting it under a light to make it flower.) Im seeing what i think are two little white hairs that have popped out. They are very small and skinny, its hard to tell whether they're white hairs or tiny green shoots. Hope they're hairs!
 
So would it be best to leave this plant to flower in the sunlight its getting or should i look at putting it under a light for better results?
 
mine first grow cab was exactly 1meter tall.....very difficult with hps man....i had to tye my sativa bitch coz of height problems...go with the cfl that ur talkin in ur other thread!
