Grow room Cooling... help please!!

First off... I am a newb. I have grown one plant to full maturity had fun with it and decided to build a box.
-Bought a dresser off CL and hollowed it out
--- The dimensions of the inside of the box are L=32"; W=18"; H=30"
-lined the inside with mylar
-sealed cracks w/ duct tape
-sawed a hole in the top of the rear for a 6" 220 cfm exhaust fan
-cut holes to accommodate two 2 gallon pots also for intake (so holes are not perf fitted)
-and have 4 split sockets to handle 4 23 watt bulbs

have some good seed but started a bag seed run just to experiment. I have it set up for a scrog grow and can add the screen when its time. but right now w/ just 4 23 watts going I am running at around 85 F. I keep my apt at about 75. When I kick on all the lights I run right at 89 F even with the lights pulled all the way to the top . So i am curious as to what I am doing wrong. I am sure there are tons of threads about this problem already I just don't have the time to skim through 1000+ pages of old threads.

Can someone please help me out??

Again I am a total newb and crunching numbers I should be fine when everything is up and running. The eventual canopy should be getting just under 5k worth of lumens per sq ft. and my fan should be replacing the air multiple times every minute. So I have no clue whats wrong... Take a look at the pics and any REAL advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys/girlsIMG_20130919_082904_569.jpgIMG_20130921_213201_937.jpgIMG_20130921_213240_314.jpgIMG_20130921_213321_440.jpg

...first off 89 is high but not so high it's un-workable and the reason it's high is partly because common CFLs run hotter than you think and partly because that fan isn't a proper exhaust fan but instead it is meant to be used as a booster fan in a long ducting run, by itself it isn't worth shit.

frankly, i'd bet money it won't take you more than 2, maybe 3 grows in the box and you'll want to upgrade anyway so for now just keep at it, ...and don't get down on yourself if things don't go as well as you'd like, we learn way more from our failures than we do our success's.

btw, here is my little mother box which was my first ever cab build and if you'd like to check out the build let me know and i'll post up a link.

peace, bozo

the answer is simpler then u think

replace the bulbs .............remove 2 of them and get something stronger and just use 2

the simpler and better answer is to replace your CFLs comepletly and get a T5 in there.........or a led system

Bozo- Love what you did with your box. What type of exhaust fan do you think i should run with?
Zem- currently the intakes are way larger than the exhaust just b/c i am running a quick grow with 4 plants using 2 liter bottles for pots.
Justugh- I built a box w/ my dad (sweet right!) we found a nice 4' 6 bay t5 system used and have a nice exhaust fan in there 2 but he is also having issues w/ heat. I am just waiting until after this grow to switch over to an led system. Don't quite have the funds yet :wall:

Thanks again for all the help
