Grow Newbie - Plz Advise!

Well here's the story...

I had put a couple of seeds outside to just get rid of them, well a couple of weeks later, I noticed I had a little girl (optimism is king!) on my hands...

After discussing the matter with my household, we decided to keep her. I set her up in a little pot with a flourescent light hanging about 1-2" from her. She's about 3-4" tall right now, but I'm hoping that she'll grow to be about 18-24" at harvest.

Again, this is the first time that I have done this, so any info/advice would be very much appreciated!

looks like an awfully odd little plant. i think that maybe it didnt come from the seed you threw away..
 
What do you mean? It was growing against the side of the house, so it's tilted one way, and wasn't in a very good position to get light.

I'll watch it for few days and see how it goes...

Any other ideas?
 
dude, that doesn't look like weed at all;)

thats what a small weed plant looks like, you rather got there a young birch tree or something similar;)

well the leaves certainly look like individual cannabis blades, but they are not growing the way a cannabis plant should grow, with 3 blades at the second node, and 5 at the third. also, the new growth at the top of the stem doesnt look like mary j.

they should look like this when they first sprout.

sorry dude, but that is maybe a weed but not the weed you want to grow;) the next time you find some bag seeds, don't chuck them out like that but rather plant 'em in some good propagation soil, may add some hormone, and let them grow:)
 
And how would you tell if that small thing is a female or male..? with out flowering it or it showing pre flowers

if you are happy as a household to grow one/two plants get some good seeds or some from a bag..
 
I have a similar looking plant that i thought was marijuana too.. But aparently it is not.

Hm...I'll give it a couple more days to develop and see what's up. I'd been watching it outside for about a week or so, it started off looking like all the ones you guys have been posting so I figured that it's odd look was due to the improper place it was growing...

Any suggestions on where to get good seeds in the USA?

So I can just order them from that site? How do they arrive? Does anyone know where to find the US laws on buying cannabis seeds?
 
All that will happen is you get a letter in your EMPTY envelope from the seed bank, saying that customs confiscated your stuff. You can also look on the NORML website for state to state laws. Try to get them from Nirvana. they have the best envelopes
