Grow Log... boring but essential paperwork

I'm just starting on a brand new run with a couple more strains following behind in the next few days. In an effort to work towards dialing absolutely everything in and learning from plant behavior and of course my own choices/mistakes, i'm trying to put together my own grow log / reporting diary.

The plan is to record key information on a daily basis without running up reams of paperwork that I can't make sense of or respond to efficiently at any stage.

I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here, I know there are plenty versions out there already, many are generously shared for public use and lots of hard work has gone into these. I haven't found something that fits my own needs and this is more to do with how I like to work rather than judging the quality of someone else's. I have also seen a few apps around, but I just know I will work better with a pen and paper when crouched over plants for weeks on end rather than a 5 inch screen typing in numbers. Plus, lets face it, no app is ever perfect anyways, right??

This is what I have come up with so far, and i've scribbled in some demo notes to show how I plan to use it.

I plan to carry a set of these sheets with every batch, with the key descriptive info at the top: strain, vendor, seed or clone etc. These sheets will move with the batch from the nursery to veg to flower. I'm giving each batch a 'code' comprising info that quickly tells me what this is, allowing for quicker recording and tracking over time, jar labelling etc.

You'll see each row in the table is a day and a plant number as i'd like to track info on individual plants within the batch. All entries represent an environmental variable or the plants' response to the given variables.

Many other variables are totally locked down and are not needed on this sheet: i'm growing in exactly the same coco blend, drain to waste, set light cycles and intensity, etc.

Obviously i'm limited by paper width otherwise I would like to add other things such as feed formula which will be adapted according to each plants' daily needs. I probably should try and record this somewhere.

I'm also drafting a quick final report for each batch summarizing the grow by its key outputs.

Something like this:

Again the emphasis is on brief, easily identifiable, non technical data presented on every plant I take through to harvest.

Other things I could add to this report include final yield, resin/trichome quality, cannabinoid profiles, overall grow rating etc.

I'm no scientist and this could easily get more complicated than I could handle, but i'd love to hear all and any feedback if you have anything to add here.

Peace,

R
