BenG,
Way more then double. I always used to harvest too early. So be careful on that. Pick up some way to see trichomes. Most guys just use a cheap jewlers loupe off ebay.

Buds toward the very end develop swelled calyxes which adds weight to buds. Color of trichs is the best harvest cue. 20% amber seems popular though it is a personal decision. You want most trichs to be cloudy (not clear)

I will definitely get a jewelers loupe keep an eye on the trichs, when do you suggest flushing? when 20% of pistils to turn brown, or ?...

And sorry all I just noticed i am into week 6 and 1 day lol...i thought I might be a little well developed for week 5 or I was just going a good job:clap:

Don't let Lucky Luke catch you using the word flush. Even though he's a bit pushy about it...I see his point. So lets call it end of run leaching.

It's an issue that guys argue about all the time. I'll try and summarize the two positions. The no leaching guys feed up till the end. The idea is if you don't overfeed...but just give what the plant uses...then there's no need. Good smoke comes from a good cure.

The opposing viewpoint is to switch to water only....one or two weeks before harvest to reduce the presence of nutrient salts in the rootzone...and thus allowing the plant to use up stored nutrients giving smoother smoke.

So these sorts of decisions really depend on experience. I'll tell you what I'd do...and you can draw your own conclusions.

If you're sure you've been keeping feedings to reasonable levels...one week of water is plenty.

Maybe reduce nutrients two weeks before harvest and a week of water followed by long cure...should optimize smoothness.

So short answer...one to two weeks. What you don't want is lots of P floating around. That shit will kill smoke quality.

That was my plan, as the plant would be taking up less p and k and I've just noticed this , seeing tip burn so I will back off each watering and "leech" haha. I do prefer shade leave's to die off so they have more light down the lower region

Will do till the end, will leave let them be for as long as i can .

I'm gonna take some pictures, just before lights turn on tomorrow so i can have a better look at the buds

Thanks much Mike :) i got almost every week covered on here, just for something i can look back on in the future and hoping I'll improve my skills. Think it was around 5 weeks from seed when I decided to flip to 12/12, glad I did it when i did, cos it might of overgrown my tent haha

Thanks for stopping by :P

Yielded 3 pounds of killer bud :hump:and learn't some things that will improve it even more on the next run like for instance...scrogging a bit earlier than i did...removing anything below that is not receiving light before flip ( I did a bit but could of done allot more, pretty much anything below the scrog should of beem removed). And couple other things. I read allot and knew what many experienced growers do. But sometimes it's just best to find out yourself.
