Grow-Box Air-Tight Issue

Hey guys, I just registered to this forum because I need help and you guys seem to be a helpful bunch. I'm building my first ever grow box for my closet, and unfortunately I made some miscalculations in my planning which has caused my box to have a couple wide cracks (mainly where the door hinges are). The crack is 1" at its widest. I need help figuring out how to seal up this crack while allowing the door to swing. Are there any sealants/other materials that would suit my needs? I've added a picture to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about (sorry it's sideways, I'm a noob to this forum). Thanks in advance guys.

Duct tape. Place pieces in a horizontal manner down the side and then one long vertical strip covering them from top to bottom. Door can still open, light can not escape.

Yeah I was thinking about duct tape, it is the "wonder product" after all. My major concern about sealing the crack is keeping odors within the box. Will vast amounts of duct tape accomplish this?

Duct tape can be water proof to a certain extent so yes it's odor proof. But you're still gonna need ventilation and a carbon filter for the box (don't know if you do or not already)

For sure, I just duct taped all the outer crevices and I have fans shipping. I have to save up some for a carbon filter though. If anyone has a link to a cheap but reliable carbon filter then get at me.
