I prefer the weber over the green egg, because the green eggs top is real heavy imo. My parents have one and all my little nephews who like to grill with granddad can't lift the top, so then I have to do slightly more work haha

Edit- But I'm sure if you're a big grilling aficionado then the egg will work great for you as well as it does make kids interested in it which is always goood
 
john i was introdused to the art of smoking by my uncle Dougie he had an hibachi that was heavier and taller than the green egg , i still remember all the great gatherings around the smoker
 
I picked the egg because I'm a charcoal person. and I wanted one that would last a while. seemed like I was buying a new grill every 2 years.
