green leaves slowly turning yellow

My plants are just now 1 month old and I had the same problem.. Absolute first thing you have to do is check your Ph. My Ph was around 7.6 which is way too high.
So I found some stuff at my local lowes called IronSafe, its made by lilly miller. the nute ratio is 4-0-0. It has 4% nitrogen, 10% sulfur as well as all the other trace elements. I just sprinkled a small handful around my plants and they took off like a rocket. The Ph is now around 6.5 on the runoff water and the soil is around 6.8 They have now turned dark lush green and have doubled in size in 8 days. Dont always assume nitrogen is the only culprit of yellow leaves. I am by no means a pro, just telling you what worked for me. The only other thing i did in the earlier stages was to spray magnesium sulfate (epsom salt)on the leaves. 1/2 teaspoon in a quart of room temperature water, let dry and spray again with clean water. On your next grow remember to never give a new seedling nutes. Wait two weeks before starting a mild nutrient solution.

if i were to use baking soda or vinegar what should i use to lower it to 6.5? and how much if my soil is 7.5

i'll try that and i never gave my seedlings nutes

sir rance alot

I have used vinegar in a pinch to lower pH but it doesnt last but a couple days at most. I took a gallon of water and added a tablespoon of vinegar. You may need more or less depending on your water's pH. Try to get the water between 6.5 and 7 anything below 7 or above 6 will be fine. This method should only be used as a temporary fix though. Try to make it more permanent by adding sulfur to the soil and watering in. There are also plenty of threads here about making homemade pH down. The stuff you buy at the store is just Acid and Water. Some are sulfuric acid, some are phosphoric acid. Liquid pH down will work instantly but you have a chance of stressing the plant from drastic pH changes and the result will be a hermaphrodite. If its just a little personal smoke, no big deal, but when your trying for the absolute best smoke and a (hermie) seeds your crop it can be devastating. Wish Ya Luck.

You could use lemon or orange juice to lower your ph try a tsp added to your next watering and see what that does for you i don't know exactly how much you would use but it deff wont drop it anywhere harmful just do some experimenting, I know people who add this stuff to their plants while flowering and it adds some extra flavor to it as well

SRA, you basicly gave them straight nitrogen. That 4-0-0 ratio is 4N-0K-0P. Giving them a dose helped them come out of it, You are making my case.:joint:

IMM, I believe the leaves will remain yellow. The new leaves should be nice and green though, providing you gave them nutes.

What you can gather from Uncle Bens thread is that you may have to feed your plants some vegg nutes that are high in nitrogen every once in a while during flowering, expecially the early stages. My leaves were yellowing at the very btips and I thought I was overfeeding, so I stopped....well they just got yellower. So I did some research and with UB guideance, I put the fertz to them and they came right out of it...much like SRA's results.
IMO,UB knows his shit.

Thanx for the +rep, good luck, I hope you solve the problem.

the soil is about 7.3 i don't have anything to lower the pH with (no money to get anything else) but also now my leaves are kind of turnign purple and the main stem is just starting to as well
