Green Air CD6 Pilot light during dark cycle

my pilot light is WAY too bright on my Green Air CD6 Co2 generator, like bright enough to do work down there at night. I've got it hooked directly into the NG in my house but I can't seem to figure out how to control the size of the pilot... my friend has one too but his is an LP and the pilot burns small and blue where mine is like the top of a crack torch lighter. at least 3 inches off the top of the pilot hole. I'm afraid that its enough to interrupt the dark cycle. ANY INPUT?

SAFETY WARNING! All natural gas flames should burn blue like ones gas stove. If it is large and mostly orange, its air mixture is not right...and that can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.

I do not know about CO2 generators, but you need to get someone in the know to check that flame.
