I planted some 3 week old plants near a pond about a week ago. I found 3 of them gone. It looked like some animal dug them up. Anyone with somes ideas for me on what i can do to prevent this? Anything i can put out to keep animals away?

A two liter of urine twice a week. Also they sell animal and deer repelant as a spray and granules at the garden center at walmart. Hope that helps and good luck with you outdoor project!

were they neatly dug up or just thrashed. if you broke rule 1 then you may want to move them to a better spot and dont tell any one else. U can use piss or hair. or if your able too, use fishing line and multiple heights to buld your self a little berrier.

Good idea with the fishing line. My wife and I used much of the brush that was around to build an animal/visual barrier. We've had two consecutive ice storms. The one in 09 was the worst the state had seen in 90+ years. Anyways, it gave us all the brush necassary to build a barrier while still blending with the surroundings. The forrests are in shambles here.

Yeah the dirt was thrashed. I dont get that though cause there were other weeds, grass, bushes etc right there with them. At three weeks old, why would animals be attracted to a baby plant you can hardly even see? Is there a scent at 3 weeks? With the fishing line, so do you use 2 or 3 strands per side? How far up do you need to take it? Thanks for all the imput so far.
