Ive had a lot of people tell me i wont be able to grow well in the Aerogarden 7 but i want a better opinion. can anyone give me some insight? :leaf:

You want a better opinion or do you want to be told it's great? Sorry man, those things suck, no twos ways about it. I know it sucks to buy something you thought was going to be awesome only to get a over priced toy. When I was a kid i waited months and ate a shit load of cereal to get a star trek phaser, didn't shoot a lazer or nothing.

Are you the person who started the other thread? I went to another thread about this machine the other day because I grew in aeroponics for 5 years so I'm speaking from experience but if you wait a little longer somebody will come along and tell you what you want to hear I'm sure.

yeah yeah i understand man. im just confused as to what part of the machine sucks? ive seen a ton of people grow from them? if you could explain to me whats wrong with them it could help me out. i mean i bought the thing.

To begin with the rez is small. The smaller the rez the more your pH will swing and the quicker your temps will as well possible causing all kinds of problems. You'll have to add water back a lot more than you would with larger systems. My friend bought one and he told me the pump is also very weak, a bit underpowered. Since it's the winter I doubt you'll have to worry much about heat but warm water means a greater chance of root rot.

If you're only looking to grow an oz or 2 per cycle it might meet your needs.

Here is the most impressive grow pic I could find in one

Take a look at his temps and how many lights he's got going, not to mention co2. Most of the pics of plants in this system that I could find are plants in veg, which makes me think that most people fail somewhere during the grow and stop taking pics. Even this guy would probably have a better yield if he took them out of there and made a hempy bucket (a few bucks) or a dwc (40 bucks).

yeah i knew a guy that bought one and gave it a try. he complained the entire time about it. but its good to just have somethin to chill with.. good luck mang

well, my plan here is that i have tons of lights. 4 to be exact. im buying a 6 plant hydroponics system asap. and this aerogarden will be an experiment.

Dude I already told you, hempy buckets. We're talking under 10 bucks. Forger everything you've been told, hydro is hydro and regardless of the style the yield is the same in the right hands. I've grown in aeroponics, bio-buckets, dwc, nft, and hempy, my yields are almost always the same but my hempy buckets cost next to nothing to set up. Do yourself a favor and check out this link https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/386008-idiots-guide-hempy.html

... well its done. i used a bucket, and 2 pen tubes that I melted with my lighter to make airtight water spouts. all i need is to get the perlite tomorrow. Ive read some things about the hempy bucket. should i start in soil first and then transplant to the hempy bucket? by what ive heard they take a while to hit the res and itd be faster to transplant into hempy? After all, I have about 10 sprouts in soil right now.

Did you already buy the AG?
I'm growing in 2 AG's and I use 8 extra cfl's, and my babies are doing great.

Takes about a week or less for the roots to reach the bottom of the buckets but that isn't time wasted. You can transplant plants started in rockwool with no problem, I even saw a guy who transplanted from soil but he used some kind of cloth that the soil couldn't grow through and the roots could. Personally I wouldn't mix soil and hydro if I didn't need to to begin with.

yeah i totally understand. ill just put the master kush in the aerogarden (experiment) and ill throw the rest into the perlite. I believe that the bucket i have could probably take 2 plants. also your saying with the hempy buckets theres no need for ph testing?

Dude, I'd say just try the AG first. I'm growing for the first time and it's pretty dumb proof (especially with auto flowering seeds). I put 2 plants in an AG veggie pro 200, which only has 6 pods. All you need to add to the AG is an air pump and some cfl's

I would love to see pics of it. Are you saying this is your first time growing or your first time growing with that machine?
