Ever think about small things to do around your home to go green? If you’re one of many who have an indoor green thumb, the PPF-800 LED Grow light may be a great small step towards energy efficiency.

LED lighting is still a little more expensive than HPS lighting initially. However, you should consider the cost of replacement bulbs (LEDs will last much longer – over 5 years) and the power savings. PG&E rates max out at 44 cents per KWH for over baseline residential usage. At that rate a 600W HPS operating 18 hours per day would cost about $140 per month verses only $40 for the PPF-800.

Another great advantage of the PPF-800 is the potential decreased blooming time of your plants, shedding anywhere from 1-2 weeks off your typical blooming window! This is made possible by way of the red, blue and white LEDs for a fuller spectrum of light that helps promote stimulated growth of the seedlings.

The Haight Solid State PPF-800 is lightweight and slender, also containing no fans so they don't take up much space at all if room is an issue. If you’re looking to replace your 600 HPS, wanting to be more energy cost-effective or just needing another light for expansion, the Haight Solid State PPF-800 is terrific product to keep in mind.

I am a beginner grower and I have been looking to get some good equipment to start off with as to avoid upgrades later down the line. The only thing that I have remained wary about is lighting. Has anyone used this? If LEDs are a good choice, the money is no real big deal for me. And so far, this seemed to be one of the better deals for a grow light that isn't used and free shipping is always cool..

I just wonder if anyone has any experience with LED or this light in particular and if it would be a worthy option to start with. Thanks in advance.

So dose it shave time off flowering because you have less of a plant to flower?

How am I supposed to know? It says that the spectrum helps seeds reach their flowering point sooner.. but that's why I'm asking if anyone has actually used an LED and if it is that remarkable.

You're better off buying a HPS or similar. Hell for that kind of money you could fill a room with CFLs/Flouro tubes and probably get better results :?

no, you can make a better one for alot cheaper. look up green thumb wannabe 's grow journal and check out his light. either do that or get a 1000w hps w/cooltube and all the other upgrades. That light is nowhere near being worth 500 dollars. imo

Leds will keep your plant alive but it won't be as vigorous as a traditional hid light..definitely not worth 500 imho

people look to led's because they think it's a plug n' play type of thing and it isn't. if you want to grow MJ, you have to get your hands dirty
