Yesterday I noticed a slight yellowing on the edge of one leaf. I looked this morning and it didnt look like it had spread at all. I was gone for about 5 hours, came home to check on my baby and she was turning yellow and dry and her leaves were curling. Here are some things I think may be wrong...

my duct taped lights came off and when i returned were sitting within an inch of the plant.

It might have been to dry? I am trying not to overwater but i really dont understand how to water this young.

The plant was in miracle grow soil, so when I got back I transplanted it into some good organic non MG soil

This was her when I left this morning

When I returned...

that mug is dead as hell. to the point that it isnt going to come back i must say.

the overwatering is what does that usually. but im sure that the light falling and drying what little water it had didnt help either.

But what i must ask is why wasnt your light already an inch away from the plant if your using cfl's?

The picture makes it look a little worse than it is i thikn. The leaves are mostly yellow, but you can still see some green. The plant is also still standing straight up. I think I may have overwatered so I tried replanted it in some drier soil I had, and moved the lights to 1 inch away. Will keep you posted as to if it will survive.

you may want to start some more seeds just in case.....
in my opinion plants with more yellow leaves than green ones usually die.
of course that dosent count for flowering plants either

hmm thx for the info, these are my only seeds, just got em in a nice bag. I might just try to keep it alive for a few days and if it dies, I am going to wait a few months to try again. Ive learned a lot in the last week and I want to plan my next try really well and maybe order some nice seeds to do it with.

no. id do it with bagseed untill u get one of those to flowering....
things can still be a bit weird then.
you can get a really good light for less than $150. id look into that if you plan on ever growing for real. most ppl use cfls the first time to make sure that they can and that its something they wanna do for real.
if they are seriously interested most people move to HID lighting

i did the same thing only my plant is more mature look at 2 of the pics in my gallery .pity 4 dat tho ,u only growing 1 plant?

I know from experience how horrible it is to go to look at your plants and find them in such a bad way. I had a few very young plants that looked exactly like that when they became overheated. Sadly, despite the fact I held on to a couple of them for over two weeks they never recovered - they never got any worse but they did not recover either. I have also had plants die from overwatering and because I got really worried about that, have let some dry out to the point where they have drooped because of lack of water. In my experience when over/underwatering is the problem, the leaves tend to remain fairly flat and green in colour but droop. The fact that your leaves look kind of crumpled/twisted makes me think of overheating as the problem. If you're going to try growing some more, there's no harm in keeping that one under the lights and seeing if it does recover, but imho, I wouldn't be too optimistic.

even if she will come back its going to stnt the growth a lot and she may never be fully rejuvenated, start fresh. lesson learned.

thats an unsexed seedling where is all this "she" talk coming from? wishful thinking?

50% of cannabis plants being male means u got a 50% chance of a dick being on ur hands man......
thats terrible to think of...
