My god does no one do any research on here any more before posting.

There are numerous posts on this very section of RIU for this issue.

DId you look in Grizzly's guide to pulverising pests?

There are numerous things you can use to get rid of these.

I personally use SPINOSAD or NATURALYTE spray.

There is also SHARP sand on the top of your pots.

YEllow sticky traps

GNAT OFF

AZAMAX

GNATROLL

GOGNATS

DO you want any more things to use?

You forgot hydrogen peroxide or using a layer of perlite or sand on top of the soil jondaman. Hydrogen peroxide wont kill the larvae but it will hold off your gnats for a bit. I noticed a couple of gnats in my soil once and I let the soil dry for four days and that took care of it. If you have a major infestation, however, you will need more than dry soil to keep them from returning
