We are having issues with Gnats (little black flies) and I was wondering if I could use "Garden Safe Brand's Houseplant & Garden Insect Spray".
Garden Safe :: Insect Sprays

It is non organic and they gurantee that we can use it on fruits and vegetables etc.

But would it be ok to use it on plants? if not what other product can I get (something that is available at lowes or homedepot etc.)

Also I have uploaded some pics of my plants I would like your opinion on them. ;-)

Thanks a lot for your help.

P.S.: I dont want my plants to die:cry: ... plz help:confused:

this is the exact same stuff I used. It's completely ok to use as long as you're vegging. Don't use it in flowering though (at least I wouldn't).

For growing tips check out FAQ. Yes Garden Safe is a good product and safe to use. Like the person above said during vegging only.

Fungus Gnats:

Signs of an infestation:
Fungus Gnats are attracted to soils that are rich in compost and nutrients. They lay eggs on the surface, hatching into larvae. Those larvae feed on the root tissue, including root hairs, and the outer cell covering of the root; often leaving only the central tube of the root. External signs include discolored leaves, and systemic plant failure. Fungus gnat adults will often run across the medium and may fly if the plant is shaken.

Controlling Fungus Gnats:
Pyrethrum aerosols, as well as placing yellow sticky traps all around the plant will help control the emerging adults. Gnatrol (containing natural Bt) is highly recommended.

I would add that if you are going to spray both the leaves and soil with this product, at some point you are going to have to wash it off before smoking....however, I'm thinking a water cure might be just the solution....perhaps since the water will be flushing out all nasty things and since it'd be getting changed daily, you might be able to add it even after vegging and on into flowering. That is if insects are still a problem at that point.

Thanks a lot guys. I just sprayed my plants. Hopefully this will take care of all those nasty gnats. I do appreciate your help :).

HELP! First time grower. Growing outdoors in a poly greenhouse. Everything is going along just peachy however we have little white things, little black things and even some kind of worm or caterpillar. We have pretty big buds, not ready to harvest but still they are very good size. I'm told to use neem oil or a product called Safer which has BT as the ingredient. Is it too late at this point to use either of these products?
HELP?

I always have gnats all the time never ending,i use hanging fly papers and when i water i pick up the pots and stab the larvae i see at the bottom of the pots with a pin,this controls them without spraying but if you want to be rid of them completely you will have to bug spray them,also of note since i have started using molasses i have noticed less of them i do not know for sure if its true or not but i read that the molasses dissolves some part of their skin and makes them much more susceptible to attacks from the microorganisms in the soil,but like i said dunno if this is true or not,i may just have less of them from actively killing the parents and larvae :leaf:
