Hey all, so I just ordered a pound of Gnatrol granules from Valent. I called and asked if they knew if it affects the beneficial bacterias etc in the soil when you use this stuff and they claimed that it didn't harm any of the beneficial microorganisms in the soil, only kills the gnat larvae. Does anybody on here have any tips for using this stuff, anybody ran into any problems with it that i should be aware of? THank you.

The active ingredient is a bacteria strain of BT, similar to Mosquito Bits or Mosquito Dunks brands. I toss some granules on top of my pots as a preventative measure and then when I have an outbreak I also soak them for a bit in enough water to get all of my dirt wetted. Usually knocks them all out in 3 or 4 days.

thanks for the reply! ive had gnats for 2 crops now and ready to get rid of the little bastards lol. Im gonna do 45 grams into 50 gallons of water and soil drench, should I do it again after 2 or 3 waterings or do you think the one time will do the trick?

Once you put some of the pellets in your soil, you will get an application every time you water without having to do anything.
