"Giant" Grow Room W/in Another Room?

So, I live in an apartment complex in a 2 bedroom unit - the rent was basically the same for a 1 bedroom unit. And I'm thinkin about building an enclosed grow-room within the spare bedroom.

My idea is to basically build a box within the bedroom leaving a few feet on the sides and about 1 foot from the ceiling - they're 8ft ceilings. The bedroom is 9x12 - So the box would be about 7x10 and 7ft high.

Why? Well, i think it'll hide the light better, allow for circulation - bring in the cool ambient air from the bedroom and out into the bedroom. And maybe mask the smell a bit, but I doubt that since I plan on circulating the air out of the box. The one major advantage i can see as a rookie grower would be housing the ballasts outside the grow room, and circulation. However, I think the box will increase temps, so i'll have to have very nice circulation.

Anyone thought of something along these lines? Any comments are welcomed.

how do those tents hold the lights?

the "plan" is to get 2 HPS for the flower room - can those tents support that?

So are you not at all worried about how it will look, I mean in my apartment experience, they always found a need to come over every few months, Ac breaks, Plumbing problems, Bug guys, etc etc. How would you explain that to a bug guy??? Sounds to me my friend like you need something a little more stealth. May i suggest a growdrobe. It just seems a little to risky to me, unless you have more to the plan then you have mentioned i would abandon it.

Its a new complex - less than 5 years old - I've lived here 2 years and have never had anyone come in - that i know of - or had any of the above problems.

Yes there is more to the "plan" but my main concern with that and the overall grow attempt is odor. I've heard carbon filters. Or charcoal filters..... Really, an idiot when it comes to masking the smell.

I figured I'd might as well grow large if I'm gonna take the risk at all, but I'm completely clueless on a lot of stuff. Thats why I'm throwin this thread out there before i go gun-ho.

Well check NORML.org for the laws in your state, often there is a plant or a weight limit that the trouble gets alot worse at, maybe you could stay under that level?

Also odor control is pretty easy really, just expensive. Get an Ozone generator and a carbon filter and you will eliminate the smell entirely.

I'm glad to hear that you have been there awhile, seen many attempts by people who just moved in, then 2 weeks into flower they discover that they live next to a cop or some shit. I would still reccomend changing the locks on the exterior doors now before you get started, that way if they are coming in while your not home you will know before you get going, Most likely they will leave you a note that says, "hey we came by and our keys don't work, call us" thats a message i would much rather get before i had a room full of plants.

Thanks about the Ozone Gen, combined w/ carbon filter. - I hadn't thought about changing the locks though - that should give me a few hours to "clean up".

If your gonna grow large then ozone generators are a total must,more than carbon filters,its a real good idea to have a back up generator incase the ozone element or bulb goes out on the generator thats running,if you cant afford to buy 2 generators then make sure to get about 10 packs of moth balls,if the ozone generator goes down simply put an open pack of moth balls in front of a fan & your good for a day or two until the moth balls melt away & you meed to put more out.
