GH Just Right Xtra potting mix possible base for super soil??

I've got bugs in my roots organic soil and see alot of growers with the same problem. My hydro shop can price match the roots with GH Just Right potting mix. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff. I cant find anybody that has used it as a base for super soil. I can get ocean forest also but Sub says its not the best with super soil. Anyone with any experience with this??

It appears that this mix might not be hot enough to compare to roots or ocean forest. I could be wrong. Opinions please

i know someone that takes a 3.8cu/ft bale of pro-mix and a 1.5 cu/ft bag of just right and mixes them together. great results.

I know someone else that mixes Just right and pro-mix 50/50


I my self got fooled into useing Root rot organics and am paying the price now, streer away from roots organic and get the Just right, or happy frog, or ocean forest, or pro-mix, They all are really good soilless mediums...

I buy in bulk from my local nursery, I am able to talk to them about prices easier. Usually a bit more flexible with soil prices too (and knowledgeable).

I use Gardener & Bloome Eden Valley Blend (Kellog Co. out of Humbolt CO) it's crazy good stuff, about the same price as roots.

Many people just use Black Gold and add some mycos, coco & perilite to the mix, with great results. The key is finding a clean and stable base soil then working your way up from there. you can always adjust a light SS mix, but a hot one is way harder to adjust.

I forgot to tpye, that i am currently running super soil that was made 50/50 ffof and just right xtra, and it all looks great so far, first plant in just right (jack herrer )is going to the Flower room Next week, so We will see how it works, Kinda hot at first but once the plants got settled they Loved it.

Thats good to hear. My hydro shop is hooking me up with a bag of just right to try out. If I like it I'll try a batch of super soil with it but Ive still got just over 50 gallons of roots base super soil to use up.
It seems that mixing the ocean forest with other mixes really improves the ocean forest. I'm just trying to find a good enough base to keep the super soil a water only soil.
