getting a 250 watt hps where can i buy it besides online?

i am looking to start my first grow and want something small for about 3 plants

i have found some good places online, but want to buy it with cash in person to avoid any DEA nonsense, so what kind of stores would sell this type of system?

can i get it from places like lowells or home depot or a nursery or is there some kind of special store i need to find in the phone book?

oh, and how much would an average 240 watt hps cost?

i got a good deal from a guy online for a 250w hPS system for $65 but usually they go for $90-$100......But i'd suggest you get a 400watt hPS setup on ebay for $120

Most medium sized towns have lighing stores in them. Most eletricial dist. also sell them. Being in a hurry is a bad omen for growing

Do an internet search for hydro shops in your area. Look in the online yellow pages.

home depot has hps security lights, but im not sure if they go all the way up to 250 watts. you can also try Light Bulbs, Rope Lights, Halogen & Fluorescent Light Bulbs. i doubt thats gonna be suspicious, since all they sell is light bulbs. they have all kinds of hps and mh, but you have to buy everything seperately; like the ballast annd the bulb and socket. good luck
