Will be ordering FF Happy Frog, some large perlite soon. My state will be legal in April, with my wife and neighbor I'm waitin till then to bust some seeds out.

Just ordered $900 worth of tent, two 315's CMH with philips 3100k bulbs, timer, exhaust and vent kit.

running some Thai landrace strain/afghani hybrid (Prayer Pupil) and maybe GPS Tomahawk. 4 or 5 plants, top once and LST the PP......the plan is a lb on run #1. hope I get some quality buds.

This forum has been great with helpful ppl and that funky bud porn!

My plan is simple, try not to shock my plants and but rather learn to react correctly to conditions I see. And not overfertilize, keep things simple. Just proper Ph water and soil.

You are gonna have fun with that setup. One thing you may wanna do is grab a spare bulb. They always go out at the worst time and it's really comforting to have a spare bulb on the shelf.
yeah, good idea.
during initial veg I'll prolly just run one CMH.....then once plants stalk thickens add the 2nd.......by then I'll order a spare.

Ordered FF Ocean Harvest and FF Happy Frog on Amazon, akso FF triple line of liquid nutes.

Hygrometer and a 3 in 1 soil PH tester on its way also.

Think I can find rockwool /coco or similar starting plugs local.....also perlite local.

Think I will soon have whats needed.

If that soil 3 in 1 ph tester is what I think, don't trust it's pH readings. It's ok for moisture levels but the pH readings on mine were a joke. I got a high quality pH probe from Blue Lab and it's awesome.

Yeah, I'm on a self imposed buidget of $1500 for attempt #1, lol. So I only have so much left at this point. I'll use the cheapo PH meter for awhile, but I know tap water has a better ph then distilled water. I initially was gonna use the distilled but I've read it usually reads a bit acidic. Have about $180 tied up in seeds.

Greenpoint= tomahawk (gg4 x stardawg), tombstone (triangle kush x stardawg)

DC Seed Exchange= prayer pupil (star pupil x bodhi prayer tower), gogi pupil (bodhi goji og x star pupil)....MASS MED STRAINS...,also star pupil x weapon x , another mass med strain.

prayer pupil, gogi pupil are fem seed.....rest is reg

star pupil---> https://www.leafly.com/hybrid/star-pupil

I can prolly find better at Home Depot, lowe's or Walmart. All are close by.
None of those cheapo deals will work for soil pH. You will have to get a soil test kit with the drops if you want an accurate reading without spending $100 bucks or more.

bookmarked the test strips, thanks man.

this one is on its way already: https://www.amazon.com/Hydro-Crunch-Moisture-Gardening-Planting/dp/B071GF5JX1

on way from home depot
I concur re: the 2-probe style pH "meter." It'll tell you if your soil is soaked, but that's about it. I went through 2 of them before accepting the fact that they're just a toy.

I'm a cheap bastard, and I've found some of the cheap PPM and pH meters do fine. Just calibrate the pH against a pH 4.01 standard solution and it's sufficiently accurate that these are what I use for my hydro runs and they work well. Your choice.

Yeah but I think he wanted a meter for soil not liquid nutrients.

Bluelab Leap PH probe.... reads soil, coco, rockwool, nute solutions whatever.....its a big investment, but it was a game changer for me....
If a guy already has a bluelab meter, the probe is around $90(ish), worth every cent IMO....

Don't worry about ph too much if at all, since you're growing in soil medium, and because the FF liquid lineup also self-buffers to a good range if mixed properly. Careful adding nutes to the already "hot" FF soil mixes you bought! The more important meter to initially have will be a conductivity meter for tracking strength/salinity of your water/nute mixes. Useful until you get a feel for the mix ratios you want to use. If mixed properly, ph will always be around 6-6.5, and if you water properly (slowly soak pots everytime you water, with some runoff) the soil ph will be perfect. Get the GH ph test kit with water sample vial and the test drops bottle. Simple, cheap, accurate, long lasting supply in a single bottle. The test strips are not as reliable in my experience.

Also, you will want a humidifier with a built in hydrostat, and a space heater or AC to control temps, depending on your location/conditions of course.

I originally ordered all my FF stuff off of amazon. Then I took a trip down to my local hydro store and they had the same bags that I was paying 30$ for on amazon .. for 9.89 ea ... last time I bought FF off of amazon.
