Welcome fabriclive.

With seedlings you want that 600 to be as far away as possible.
You also do not want to run 24 hrs.
After they get used to the light you can gradually get it closer and closer.
With good intake and exhaust air circulation you should ultimately be able to get the 600 to 18" away from the tops of the plants without burning them.

The seedlings are not going to need much light.

yea a few days before i posted the thread i burnt 3 seedlings even though they were about 15 inches away do you guys have a picture of a seedling at the stage where i should start giving it some light?

You know I hate to say this but if you continue to have problems, or are not sure what is good or not good for your plants start them off with some CFLs, it's hard to burn plants, it keeps the temps down, etc. After they are past the seedling stage then use the 600. I just started my first indoor grow and that's what I did, I just wasn't all that familiar with my MH/HPS just yet, so I figured I'd try CFLs on the seedlings then I switched over and all is well.
