Germination -> Pots

Well about 2-3 days ago I placed a wet paper towel on a plate, placed the seeds on top of the paper towel, and covered it with a bowl as to not allow any light to penetrate the seeds.

Well I'm consistently checking them, and a few of them have began to sprout little nubs, which look similar to a single water drop. They look pretty good to me though.

I've never germinated seeds before and I'm completely new to this, but I'm curious when I should begin thinking about moving them in a small soiled cup?

I've been searching around for some topics, in hopes for pictures, but I can't seem to find any. I think a visual representation would suit me best.

So should I do it now, or wait a few more days?

I germinate seeds between 2 paper towels which are between 2 plates. When the taproot sticks about 1/2 inch out of the seed I'll plant it taproot down into soil. Sorry I don't have any pics but surf around the grow journals and you're bound to find someone germinating some seeds.

Sorry to bump, but I've checked today, and theres been little progress. I think I'm going to give it another day or two.

Any more suggestions?

Personally i will stick them in soil as each one sprouts. as soon as the seed is cracked and has the tiniest little white nub sticking out of it I will put it in soil about 1/4" to 1/2" deep w/ the root pointed down. Try your best not to touch the root w/ your hands. If they crack, plant them. Leave the rest & check them again the next day. I'll move them 1 at a time if i have to, they won't all spontaniously crack @ once. And some will not germinate @ all. After 7 days you prolly will have all your good seeds cracked if you kept them in the right conditions.

If you're dealing w/ seeds you bought from a seedbank i would germ all of them & hope they all come out as they should have sent you good quality seeds. If dealing w/ bag seeds I will throw away the defrormed, white & very green/white seeds right off. Of the other good looking seeds (brown, grey, mottled) I will give them a little squeeze betweeen my fingers, if they crush easily then they are no good. Keep the others for germination.
