Germinating seeds

i have my auto seeds and im about the germinate them. they are in a cup of water for about 6-7 hours and they sink but there are no roots that showed. should i put them on paper towels and wait for roots? or should i put them directly in soil? do i really need to see them roots on paper towel?
 
Throw them in a cup for 24hours or so.
Wet a kitchen towel (tissue) fire your beans in, wrap them up, put into a sandwich bag, then into a dvd case & leave it on your cable box/sky box/etc.
Or drop them directly into soil.

I'd leave them 2 or 3 days to germ, are you expecting to see a root after 6 hours?
 
I personally soak in a damp paper towel in a bag until they crack and drop them just under a half inch in soil. After the days they emerge from the soil.

i'm not expecting to see a root now, but im wondering that should i really have too wait for see a root or should i drop them into soil because they sink.

Wait to they pop/split & then drop them into soil, becareful though they'll be delicate.
Down put them too deep into the medium & wait a few days.

Or wet a tissue as @Petetownshend said, I use the same technique.
Try putting the bag into an empty dvd case to help hold the warmth & a little protection.

Depends on the strain & genetics.
I've seen a root in less than 24hours, others a few days.

Don't try to "push them along" by using nutes, you could kill them.
Just let nature & time do their thing.

Don't over water either, can easily happen in the seedling stage.

my seeds are northern lights auto, so do you think i should put them in soil now? (my soil doesnt contiain any nutrients)

Yeah, you could if you want to.
I'd leave them around 24 hours though.

Trick is, don't do too much with autos. Even use less nutes than a photo plant.
An auto has a pretty short life span, so transplanting, LST, deficiencies, etc will stress your plant & could lower your yield.
Basically when you've an auto, less is more.

i'll wait for 18 hours more then and put them in the soil. this will be my first grow. thanks for the replies. :)

But look into photo beans, you'll never grow another auto lol
