germinating seeds

So im germinating my first seed, and the tap root is coming out, its just barely out of it, should i put it in soil now?

If the tap root has emerged, plant it. Its sensitive and you shouldn't risk it drying out.

Personally I just germ in the medium. I found there's no need for this paper towel crap or put in water. Just put them in some moist medium

I don't understand all the complications either. Put it in the dirt and be done.

To be fair to the op, the question wasn't whether he shouldve started in a paper towel or not.

I always use the paper towel method with 100% success.

I didnt have that kind of success directly in soil. Its a bit trickier in my opinion.

But yes if the tap root is out put it in the soil. Barely cover is best, i usually leave the tip of the seed sticking out so it doesnt get lost in there.
