Hey all,
I'm new to this forum and to growing. I'm just starting my first grow and my seeds are germinating at the mo using the wet paper towell method.
I was spilt 50/50 whether to use this method or just plant my seeds straight into a nice potting mix, but I went for the wet towell in the end cos of a good vid that I watched. Hopefully it will be successful.
But having just read this article Germination Testing | Tips & Techniques about germination testing, which is from a general gardening perspective, not just ganga (sorry, is that allowed!?), I am now wishing that I had just planted my seeds up straight away.
I found it quite interesting that gardeners only use this towell techique to test the viablility of old seeds before planting, to help decide how many seeds they should sow in the ground etc.
If you have good quality new seeds, just plant them up I reckon. I will do this next time for sure.
How does everyone else do it?
