Many variables to consider. I put my seeds in a moist coffee filter in an open sandwich baggie in a dark place about 75 degrees.
Afte a day or two tops a taproot emerges.
Then I carefully place the seed making sure not to damage the little root with the root pointing up about 2x the depth of the seed size in a small hole I make with an I sharpened new pencil.
Oh and I water the 16oz plastic cup to runoff through holes I make in the bottom before planting. And the seedling sprouts a day or 2 later under a t-5 fluorescent lamp about 10” distance at first.
I have had old seeds take a week to taproot as they can have hardened shells. But once rooted they come up in a couple of days.
