Genetics: high yielding in high wind

Hey y'all, got a southwest slope and high winds to boot. Can anyone recommend some killer strains that yield in high wind?

This wind is kicking the shit out of everything I put out there. I'm doing my best to build a wind break, but I don't think I can completely stop the heavy gusts from hitting the plants now and again.

Thanks...

Most any strain will survive and thrive. Top them and supercrop them. Start them outside all the way. That said some of the indicas would rock. Check “God Bud” from BC Bud Depot.

I live in a high wind area and use a lot of support wire and netting. Dr Dank 81 or something like that his plants all have grown large and are big producers. I'm growing two of his this year & a cross i made from one of his females.I haven't harvested any of these strains to offer an opinion.

True..I’m planning on intense trellising/training this year. I got some Sherlock’s gift freebies, not sure if I wanna pop em as the cbd content can be all over the place so hard to know what I’m getting. I heard the 88g13hp crosses do well in high wind (Kevin Jodrey), so im popping some HollyWeed seeds. None have cracked yet though...too cold maybe, it’s like 60 in my house right now. I dropped them in a cup of tap...could be nasty tap? I replaced with filtered and put in 70 deg after 24h with no crack. Will put into paper towel at 48h, maybe need to scarrify or manually crack a la snowhigh?

I pop my seeds in an incubator it keeps a constant temp & humidity. the top of my cable box will also keep the seeds warn enough. wind where i'm at keeps the humidity low & the flying pests grounded. higher humidity helps in popping seeds

Bingo...I transferred the cups o water/seeds to my veg tent and bam...

1/2 of my own cross cracked in 8 hours...

HollyWeed seeds, nothing yet. They look strikingly similar to some poison girl I got from snowhigh...haven’t been able to crack those yet, apparently some of his gear have “pistachio shell” phenos. I might have to do surgery on these HollyWeed seeds...

Iv grown golden lei from snowhigh a few years back it finished late mid November. I tried to pop the last 3 seeds this year and make seeds but none of them popped.

i love super skunk that shit seems bullet proof. Maybe try that genetic
Damn, I would love to grow some kill skunk, I haven’t heard great things about the available skunk seeds these days. You got a rks clone for trade? Lol One day, I’d love to work with some of mr nice’s genetics to get a great skunk pheno...I heard Kevin Jodreys doing it already, wonder if he’ll release any of his findings?

paper towel in a plastic bag on top of my cable box.
I remember doing that experiment in middle school, I think they were trying to tell us something. I always did it that way until my friend bugged me to insanity to try the cup of water and cover. I think the appeal is how easy (read: fast) it is to throw seeds in a cup...getting them out unscathed might be a different story... I'm thinking the snowhigh seeds might need the germination bomb I saw somewhere on the interwebs. I don't know if I can link here? Or maybe some coconut water..anyone a fan? coco bomb?

I've got some gear in a gusty area from Equilibrium Genetics that are thriving. Does the temperature drop while its windy?
Temps stay between 60-70 at night during most of late spring-summer, going down to 40s in late oct and possible high 30s end of november. Highs are 90-100+ during jul/aug.

Which strains specifically did well in high wind?

Yes, they did.

CBD Orange Tide with Equilibrium Genetics.

It seems to be strong enough for 50mph.
Is that 50 mph gusts or sustained? that’s crazy if they held up to 50 mph sustained even for a day or two. What were temps like? Is that robustness a trait of ruderalis?

I wasnt planning on growing cbd this year, I simply mentioned a cbd cross I got as a freebie from docsdank, since that breeder was mentioned above. I’m not too hot on cbd crosses as seeds, because the actual cbd:thc ratio can be all over the place, and would require testing after the fact. If I was gonna do cbd, I’d want a clone that was tested for thc:cbd, so I know what I’m getting into.

Have you had success in High wind with any non-cbd strains?

No, these are my first cannabis plants.

They get Miracle Grow (included iron oxides). Occasional showers. The outdoors air flows a lot with occasional gusts.

I'd have to agree, some short bushy indicas might be called for, despite my inclination for sativa leaning hybrids...actually my favorite strain for effect right now is my own cross with two super stretching sativas (not so ideal in this wind, but hopefully the trellising will remedy). The effect is VERY interesting..I feel uplifted in the sense that I have physical energy, but my mind is VERY calm, somewhat focused, but at the same time a little like I'm "caught in between dimensions," colors enhanced, trippy, but not too racy/paranoia (at least for me), very happy...oops, I forgot what I was doing. I've been extracting RSO with iso, dosing 2x per day for ~2 months...still no burnout/tolerance. The smell/flavors coming off are loud AF too...rasberry lemonade, lemon pepper, menthol?... little banana coming out in the cure (6 months now). The frost? o..m..g..

Actually, I would love it if anyone would be willing to test some of the smoke. I can't smoke anymore, since I became allergic after 20 years of bong hits...fml (at least edibles still jive with me). My fam has been loving this strain (actually picked it over many top strains offered in dispensaries), but you never know how much they are just pissing in your pockets, right? I need some good honest opinions, so I can work the line a little. Anyone in NorCal wanting to test it out, hmu!

How is the effect on God Bud? I'm not a huge fan of couch lock. Is BC still putting out great genetics? I've heard many of the old faithful seed suppliers aren't what they used to be. Having said that, I've never grown any of their gear. Heard great things on God Bud, though. Can it yield? Ive got an OG strain (family heirloom) that can put out 5-10 lbs per plant. I'm growing in 200 gal pots, btw...guess I could put 10-12 of those god buds in one pot, lol.

God Bud is a Cup winning indica. It’s strictly nighttime for me. It’s a couchlocker. Don’t know your Fall climate but sativas sound right for you. Or a sativa majority hybrid. BC is still rocking it. Still producing excellent bud.
