General Organics: CaMg+ ... How and why you use it.

I was just looking to hear from some people who use General Organics CaMg+.
I recently starting using this in a drain to waste coco system to replace Gen Hydro CalMag+.

CalMag+ was good for its N content... I liked that when I used it, it would increase the N in my feeding. I'm a big fan of higher N than most use.

I really like the acidity of General Organics CaMg+. With a moderate to heavy base nute nutrient solution I can often hit my target PH using just the GO CaMg+, no ph down.

What do you think? How and why do you use it? Thanks.

Why is simple, because Cal, Mag, and Sulphur, are Macro-Nutes just like N-P-K, How you use it depends on how fast your plant(s) use it. Add them every time you feed!! If that answers the question of how.

Its ground up limestone in fermented mollases, sugar. doesn't seem worth paying a lot for since the basic ingredients are so cheap and available.

Putting a diy camg+ equal to Gen Organics camg+, I feel alright with paying for the consistency and convenience.

I started using it when I switched my base nutes from a 7-9-5 to a 9-3-6. With the 7-9-5 I wanted some extra N. With 9-3-6, I do not.

Growing in coco, i have noticed issues without using at least a little CalMag now and then. With 7-9-5 I was often using it more for the N than the Cal and Mag.

I also liked the addition of sulfur. I often got yellowish top growth early in flower. Trying to diagnose with pics and the forums, it looked like sulfur def. I can say that since using Gen Or CaMg+ I have had less of that yellowish top growth. I have switched quite a few things around though. It could very well be another variable.

I have been feeding between 2-5ml/gal. Occasionally I end up adding more just to drop the ph a little more. If I just need to drop .5 or so, I prefer to use the CaMg than the ph down. I'm always staining the floor/clothes with ph down.

Thanks for the replies PurpleBuz and PropertyoftheUS.

I use CANNA mono Ca and mono Mg.

No experience with the GO version.

But I am a little like you HH I use a 6-3-8 the whole way through in coco. But because they're hydro nutes I like to add Ca and Mg. which helps even more come PK1314 weeks.

I also use a silica additive for pH up when required.

Jondamon... Thanks for the reply.. I'm wondering, at what point(s) in flower do you use the PK 13/14?

I've had my best results using PK1314 between weeks 3-6 of 12/12.

It really depends though on when the plants tell me.

I tend to use it when the pistils start becoming more of a bud structure.

So that point in time where the actual calyx's begin forming densely under the pistils.

If its an unknown strain to me, then I tend to use full strength week3 of 12/12 then 1/3 strength week4 then full strength week5 then stop adding it.

Any time I add the PK1314 I tend to double up my dosage of the Ca and Mg.
