First things first. This is an amazing site and I'm learning loads, but there's so much to take in that I feel swamped.
I got a cutting from a friend that had already started rooting (if that's what is called?) I'll post pics later when the light is off.
I've had it for about a week. Up until last week it had been under a 100w standard energy saving bulb. I bought a 400w ballast, 400w grolux high pressure sodium lamp, a refector (not sure of the type will post pics later) and a bottle of Bio-Grow Biobizz liquid plant food 8.0-2.0-6.0 see pic
I re-potted it in a bigger pot with compost (miracle grow)
My plant is about 20-25cm tall with around 12-14 small to medium size leaves and loads of new leaves starting to grow.
I've been putting the light on for 16 hours a day and feeding a weak solution of Bio-Grow (the bottle says 2-4 ml per litre of water to be used with every watering) I put 4ml in 2 litres of water.
i watered it once until a small amount came out of the bottom of the pot.
Am I ok so far or am I making loads of mistakes

) No but um.. seriously... nice light schedule.. I use 16 too.. .tho most do 18/6... it's all strain man... anyway.. .tonight is my babies first night of 12 hours of sleep... they were pre-flowering like crazy and weren't really getting taller sooooo.. .ya was time to send em into the flower power. ur doin good otherwise tho, and it is called rooted. um... IMPORTANT QUESTION... does your miracle say "will feed plant for up to 3 months!" or anything like "time release fertilizer" cuzz u will definitely want to GET IT THE FUCK OUT OF THAT SHIT AND PUT IT IN SOME MOTHER FUCKIN CUSTOM MIX with nothin in it... like... sayyyyy..... 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 perlite.. maybe a lil extra perlite, never hurt to aerate a medium a lil 
maybe water more often, but the essential oxygen to the roots that is accomplished in soilless mixes such as the one i have described is benificial (I know I USE IT!) i seriously typed this in 5 mins... fuck me
