This will be my second grow, so I've upgraded lights & didn't think about using a different type timer. The manual says no mechanical timers & recommends ABB A contactors! I have a 15 amp push-pin type timer, but don't want to ruin anything. Will the digital timers from Home Depot/Lowes work? Thanks for any info!

thanks for the info. after looking through some Amazon, i've started noticing the "not for digital ballast" statements.
yep, i'm the guy, who started a dumb question thread!!

Commercial Timer I got at Home Depot 80 bucks a year or so ago.

Just use a "regular" timer - cost is cheap -works well . If one is using CO2 and other growing devices (air conditioner. humitifier, ect) then it mighrt be better to use a commerical one when growing many plants 100 + then one might use a "better:one, but for the regular grower that grows any were from 1 to 10 plants a regular timer will work just a good as. Need to be thought full one can spend $100.00 to $1,000 on cultivation "stuff" Keep It Simple !!!!!!!!
