1/4 dose is still kind of strong for a seedling in my opinion. You don't need nutes that early if you have a hot soil (i.e. Fox Farms Ocean Forest, Happy Frog).

Start with a weaker dose, your plants will let you know they are hungry and you can feed them, but overfeeding is harder to deal with.

Don't cut the leaf. Just let it roll.

start your new seeds in a seed starter mix

the happy frog and ocean forest are both too hot for seed starting because theyre full of food

def no reason to be feeding fertilizers yet

I have had good results growing seedlings in Happy Frog with no added nutrients. Happy Frog isn't as hot as Ocean Forest.

never had a problem with seedlings in ocean forest, roots, flower power. I think I started with fox farms about 23 years ago and have not had one seedling die from it(out of thousands)

an EC slurry test wont lie
ffof is most certainly not the best choice for seedlings, the happy frog I believe has less heat and probably good for rooted clones but id prefer to start in some black gold seed starter mix and up pot proper

to each there own and theres def more than one way to get it done

but some strains and phenotypes are more nute sensitive than others
