Garden Lime with Flood & Drain

I am wondering if this can be done... I am looking for an alternative to CalMag and I know dolomite lime, mostly called garden lime in many stores is actually a decent source for this, plus maybe some epsom salt but thats another conversation.

many people use dolomite lime and put it on top of soil or a little mixed into their soil, I am wondering if there would be any issues crushing it up into powder and thoroughly mixing it in a res just for some added needs.
