i had gotten some G13 x widow from Mr. nice seed. i cracked them on march 6th.

i started with 6500K bulbs from lowes, most of the info that i have posted is on another thread, "Cure for Nutrient burn", i will try to transfer them over here.

I have Mr Nice Seedbank - G13 x Widow seeds. I was wondering if anyone has grown these before? I have looked on this site, I haven't found and other posts about this strain. I bought the seeds threw the attitude this is the link... http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk...prod_1229.html

I am running a hydroponics set up in a 3'x3'x6.5' grow tent (space is limited). I currently have 4 seeds starting, and they are about 15 days from when the seeds cracked and were planted in the rockwool. They are currently under 4, 6500k 35w cfls; on a 20/4 light cycle. I have the Flora nutrients and was running them at 1/4 strength for the 1st week, then went to full strength at 2 weeks. Although I believe I may have over done it, they have a little of what looks to be the beginning of nutrients burn, I changed the water after the 1st week although I have not gotten a chance to do it again since I do not have distiled water. Which brings up another question I have, what kind of water is the best to use in a hydro set up? I have only been running the system on distiled water and was wondering if there is another tried and true method that works? Buying the distiled water is killing me. I know that there has to be a cheaper way, I just haven't found it.

I guess to sum it all up I'm looking to see if anyone has any advice on this strain, or general grow tips for a new grower? And also what type of water to use in a hydroponics set up?

Any posts or even links to other threads is great. Thanks to everyone on here who replies!

I attached a whole bunch of photos that are just taken just a few mins ago, some are better than others, my camera is not the best one out there...

i'm also using the GH 3 part. i have gotten necrosis, yellowing, i am now getting spotting on some of my newer leaves. i did burn 2 of my leaves with the light. i have tried to flush them using distilled water for 3 days and now they are starting to wilt. i first used 1/4 strength GH on them, then after 1 week i moved it up to full strength. after a few days i started to get yellowing then necrosis at the tips. I started to get a sweet smell from the tent and thought it might be a salt buildup so i started to flush. After a couple of days they started to look better, so i gave them GH at half strength. my pump broke so i have been having to feed them manually but i started to get the sweet smell again and my leaves started to have problems again. now it's not just the bottom leaves, but some of the upper leaves as well, and now some of the upper leaves are beginning to spot.

the strain i'm using is G13 x White Widow

i know that i got a touchy strain. if your as new to this as i am and your strain is touchy like mine, then it might be that we would need diff nutes as well as

i am currently at half strength, i have to get a new cam, this one sucks. the ph (last time i checked) was around 6.0. like i said i'm new to all of this, and it sounds like Vonkins is also new. if by chance i'm further along then it would be a good warning of what not to do. my current growth medium is rockwool. not sure how that would give off a smell

i was wondering if you have heard about dyna-grow. i have heard a few diff things i was wondering if you have read anything about it. i just bought some and was thinking that the ratios are a bit diff, but from everything i have read it has all the minerals that the plant needs and there are only 2 bottles one for grow and one for bloom.

i had some massive growth after the first week and they reached about 6 inches then i switched and i burned them, but i did go to full strength, i have now changed a few things and am now giving them a mix that only registers 89 ppm. i know that is really light and prolly too lean, but i'm afraid that there is also a salt buildup problem. if this works to bring them back i'm going to put them into pots with hydroton. if i don't see some improvement in the next few days i'm going to try dyna-grow and see if that has any effect. if they are gonna die i might as well try to get some useful data.

just checked ph and i caught a fluctuation it popped to 6.5. so i put in some ph down and it seems to be around 5.8 to 6.0. what could cause such a degree of change in 24 hours?

i'm using a dripper method of hydro currently growing in gro|dan rockwool. i stopped watering after the suggestion of over watering and it just accelerated the degradation of the plants. it was before i started to cycle the nutrient mix that i tested the water again. at that point i noticed a shift in ph, i have since dropped the ph in the solution.

seeing some improvement. the girls ( i hope ) are not wilting as much. actually they are standing up again and growing. i'm wondering should i start rinsing them everyday to try to prevent a salt buildup again? i have gotta get to the store to get some supplies ( pots and hydroton). time to move them up to a larger space for their roots, starting to get roots popping through the top of the rockwool.

april 2nd

i'm planning to move mine today into 6" pots with hydroton ( expanded clay pebbles). i'll let you know how it goes. oh are you getting some necrosis at the tips of some of your newer leaves? and yes i'm trying to get a better camera, kind of a money issue.

[ didn't actually get them in the pots till about a week later]

i have switched to dynagrow and am flushing them 3 times a day with distilled water by pouring it over the base of the plants to try to wash out the rockwool. i have taken one of the plants out of the tent to see a diff in the grow pattern. the plant that i took out of the tent has been getting sunlight (behind glass to filter out UVB) for the last 5 days during the day and a 5700K and a 6500k lights at night to keep a 20/4 light cycle. i have only been giving it water to flush it out. it has grown but compared to the 3 in the tent which have been getting dynagrow at almost 700ppm as well as a UVB 50 18 inch 15watt bulbs. the growth has been much more noticeable. i discovered last night that the ph in the tent was over 7, so i used some GH ph down. the nute burn is lasting much longer on the plants in the tent and has been more difficult to clear up. but it seems that dynagrow is much better suited for this strain. i may run in to some deficiency problems but i'm planning to use the GH flora series to try to balance that out when the probs occur. but to clear somethings up i do believe that dynagrow is the way to go for MR. NICE SEED strain of G13 widow, which i have discovered is actually a cross between G13 and BLACK WIDOW. this is a very touchy strain and to be honest i was not ready for it. this being my first grow i should have gone with an easier strain.

i'm not sure if the UVB light has helped in the explosive growth in the tent but they are growing fast enough to keep ahead of the nute problems, i would assume that it is the new nutes, but i can't verify that yet, before i reintroduce the 4th plant into the tent i plan on using a dynagrow solution on it to see what happens to separate the results that i'm seeing in the tent.

however the side that is getting the UVB light is developing larger fan leaves and seem to be more resistant to nute burn ( not sure why, must investigate further).

i'm now also planning a duel grow, i found some amazing rego's, and when i looked closely i noticed that it looked like a very good strain. i have gathered some seeds from the bag and am going to try to grow them in a controlled environment to be able to identify the strain. i'm going to attempt to build a grow box to get them started, using my 6500k 35watt cfl's and mylar.

if anyone out there has any experience with this strain please help, " I need input, input..." [ short circuit and short circuit 2].

i was planning to have some photos for this post by now but my comp took a crap on me. i should have some pics later today hopefully.

i have since my last post reintroduced the sunlight plant into the tent and i'm now seeing more growth, i'm thinking about cutting some clones to try to start a crop. ( everything is legal!!! ) i will try to recover my older pics and attempt to date them accurately. i have noticed that the side of the plants thats towards the UVB light is growing faster on all the plants. i'm about to buy another one and reconfigure the layout of the tent, as well as add some more fans.

well in the last month i have had a lot of growth, so much so that the tent that i have is no longer big enough for all 4 plants. plant number 2 is by far the tallest, so i will get clones from her first. i built a clone box out of an old cardboard box, i bought 3 140 mm computer case fans 1 intake, 2 exhaust. i am powering them by daisy chaining the fans and they are powered by an old cell phone charger. i have lined the box with mylar and a PVC support structure inside the box with a slide so that i can break it down when i need to. ( everything that i am building is built to be broken down as well as modular. that way if i have to replace something i can localize it. i am going to have to use my bathroom as a flowering room. that is going to be interesting to build. but i will find a way.

sorry once again about not having pics, things are a bit hectic over here. but i will get them.

today i'm cleaning out my rez and cutting some clones. i must get plant number 2 out of the tent so that the other ones will be able to grow more.
