Fungus gnats in my dwc

What could cause this in my system? I have had 1 successful harvest of an auto flower in a dwc before, I'm New to dwc. I have experience in water farms and ebb and flow with rock wool so I'm an experienced grower.

They're in your hydroton or what? They can't be in your water right?

I'm using a this later of rock wool cubes. They seem to be at where the roots hang into the water from the cup

I had them in a waterfarm and I wound up getting rid of them using Advanced Nutrients' Tarantula which contains bacillus thuringiensis (the active ingredient in mosquito dunks) which will seek out and destroy all kinds of larvae.
