I just heard from a few coco growers so I looked it up And figured I Wud ask a few questions

Doing good bud, thanks for asking. I had some foxtailing on the 2 plants in the back from getting too close to the light but that was on me. It's my first run with my new HLG 600 and instead of doing something when they got too close I left them to see how they would react. When they started foxtailing I lowered them 5 inches and dropped the light power by about 75 watts, things are now progressing well. Been about 7 weeks since flip and other than a few buds with less bag appeal they should turn out good. They sure smell sweet. Last pics I took were 10 days ago, here is a couple. It's funny. The smallest of the 4 plants has drank much less than the others it's whole life and has the smallest buds but is the most resin covered. Cant wait to try them out.

Always good to ask questions. It's not that you can't end up with gnats in coco, it is just much less likely. The reason being if you get gnats in soil it is likely that the soil itself came with the larva. Coco would not really have that problem so you would have to end up with them from an outside source like brining them into your grow from outside. While the conditions with coco would attract them, they still have to come from a source outside your grow so it is much less likely. On the bright side even if you do get them it should be fairly easy to get rid of them, just takes time.

Thanks bud. Got myself a 2x4 tent I am setting up with it's own 4" carbon filter and an inkbird so I can have the optimal conditions for drying. Hoping it all finishes well but hey, you never know. One day at a time. The front right plant looks like it will finish first, so I will have time between each one ripening. 2 kinds, 4 seeds, 4 totally different plants. It's been fun to watch the differences in phenos from the same plants.

Drying in a tent is the best! Constant airflow and just the right temps. I bought a Infinity cloud line 4 inch recently with the humidity and temp controller. Great little blower fan.

Do NOT use coco with no perlite just in hopes the medium will stay saturated longer. Thats how you get root rot and other issues. Cutting corners is not worth it. The more oxygen the roots get the more they uptake nutrient wise. If you dont want to hand water everyday then buy an irrigation system.
Also my advice
From day 3 I start feeding.
0.5ml silica.
2ml cal mag
And very little feed.
Silica will max out at 1ml per gal and calmag will max at 5ml
Feed them 2x a day and MAKE SURE you have runoff at least 1x a day (second watering)
Never give them plain water. ALWAYS FEED.
Also my advice

Disagree, perlite is not necessary with coco at all...at least not in fabric pots. Coco itself holds oxygen a lot better than soil. If your rh is under control, you feed daily until runoff and your plants drain adequately/not sitting in their own runoff root rot should not be an issue. Of course this is another benefit of using fabric pots...way more oxygen to the roots. In plastic pots root rot is more likely so I guess perlite mixed in may be a good idea...but I used to do a lot of solo cup SOG grows and never used perlite in those either without issue...

4 yrs growing in coco, never had a fungus gnat problem.
I grow in straight coco, Canna bricks, watered 2-3x/day (once they're established). This whole room is growing in coco that consists of probably 60% old roots from previous grows*. I use a lot of Cannazym. Never had root rot. Pay no attention to the 2 overfed plants, trying to work out a good ratio of Jacks 321 with my decomposing roots.
