Fuk Felicity Huffman

It actually isn't.

Although it was a 15,000 dollar transaction, it wasn't a fraud of theft. It was a fraud of illegal contribution.

They didn't rob someone of value. A lot of people in this thread are acting like what Huffman did was the same thing as bouncing 15,000 dollars worth of checks.

It isn't. It's not in the same ballpark. Hell, it's not even the same sport.

What Huffman did was pay to cheat.

Yes, it sucks. Yes, she should be punished for it.

But bear in mind this is a first offense and she never once denied anything. She owned up to it from the start and pleaded guilty.

Even if she had bounced a 15,000 dollar check, which is a far more serious crime than this, as a first offense pleading guilty across the board she would probably have never spent a single day in jail.

My brother floated 35,000 dollars in bad checks, was AWOL from the Army, had 4 DUI's and still only did 6 months.

I would like to have seen her get 30 days, but I'm not surprised she got half that. It's well within typical sentencing guidelines for the crime in question.
You have never lost 15min standing in line at the post office because the kid didn't fill out his form properly?

There's a lot of those graduates running things today.

The loss to society is great.

I think she got off easy Easy be honest with you. Money bought her out of a whole lotta trouble.
No, it didn't. Her crime wasn't that serious. She was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and one count of honest services fraud.

The maximum she faced was 2 years. Given it's a first offense and she pleaded guilty it's not a surprise at all.

Consider this: Papadopoulos got 14 days, 1 year probation, a 9,500 dollar fine and 100 hours of community service for lying to the FBI and obstructing justice.

It's a fair sentence for what she did.

I'm guessing she will get 2-4 years, what do you think?
Her mother you mean?

Well, Lori and her husband are charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud, honest services fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. What's more, the amount they used was 500,000 dollars, roughly 33 times the amount Huffman spent.

They are facing 40 years in prison. If convicted on all counts, I don't see them getting anything less than 3 years. If that's the case, they'll serve no less than 2 of it in prison, not jail.

I'm of the opinion though that a deal will be made before it goes to trial. I don't think it will ever see the inside of a courtroom. If that's the case, I'm betting they get 3 months. If they don't take it, they'll be stupid. I don't see any jury on the planet letting them walk away from this Scot free.

Yeah, I agree. Compared to Laughlin, Huffman's charges were minor. Yet part of me hopes that she rolls the dice on her ability to charm a jury and get slapped hard.

I'm sure she wants to. I'm equally as sure that she's positive that she can and will.

I'm also equally sure her lawyers are trying desperately to talk them both out of it. In the end, I'm thinking that once they start voir dire, that's when it's going to sink in that it's real, that nobody actually likes them and that they are well and truly fucked if they go to trial and the lawyers will talk them into taking a plea deal.

Like you, I'm hoping they don't. I'm hoping they go all the way. They're certainly arrogant and full of themselves enough to try.

They will get fucking body slammed if they do.

If she's anything like her daughter, it's game on.

What a horrible cunt.

A black woman in Akron was sentenced to five years in prison for signing her kid up under her father's address to get that kid into a suburban school.

But poooor Felicity...

She'll be forced to serve up to 85% of her 14 day sentence and she will do it in a cushy, country club prison.

Maybe she'll get a pardon.

I hereby summon @scumrot derelict
Poor Becky she’s gonna have to go to Starbucks in her uggs

That's a fake story.

The black lady was jailed for 5 years for selling crack and marijuana to an undercover cop.
It is accurate to say she sent her daughter to a better school and was sent to prison for 5 years

That is all true
